Big Shots Elite 2023 Guard Cedavion Wimbley: He finished top five in the entire 16U division in scoring and three point shots made which wasn’t much of a surprise. Scoring the ball is something that he looks to do constantly and when he catches fire, he can score a bunch in a small span of time. We didn’t see him catch and shoot much but he saw quite a bit of success with scoring the ball off the dribble.
Flight 22 2021 Guard Charlie Miller Charlie Miller 6'0" | SG Lumberton | 2021 State NC : It’s refreshing to see a player that understands his role on the team and excels at it week in and week out. He’s a player that provides shooting/scoring for his squad, which was huge for Flight 22 as they were able to catch fire downtown during the Semis. He led the team with 20 Points in the Semis with five made treys and then followed that up with a solid 11 point showing in the Championship game.
NC Elite 2022 Guard Donavan Atwell: The leader in the division in three point shots made and one of the top overall shooters in the state of NC, the lefty showed why he is a player that colleges are watching closely. He can knock down shots at a very high rate and doesn’t need unnecessary dribbling to create space for himself.
Garner Road 2022 Shooting Guard Jalen Higgins Jalen Higgins 6'5" | SG Freedom Christian | 2022 State NC : His game continues to grow but he still has shown the shooting ability that he’s been known for over the last few years. The fact that he has improved his ballhandling skills and is more aggressive to attack the basket only makes him that much more of a dangerous player on the court which is what we saw some flashes of this past weekend.
Team Pressure 2022 Guard Malachi Travis: He put together some games with some nice scoring numbers , going for 20+ on multiple occasions. Over the years he’s been know as three point specialist but now it seems as if he is turning the corner as an All-Around player which is what will be needed next season from him at NLCA as he takes on a larger role.
Confidence Cougars 2021 Guard Cody Appleton: He led the 17 U Blue division in three point shots made, showcasing a smooth shooting stroke throughout the event. Whether it’s off the dribble or catch, he doesn’t take too much time in getting his shot off which forces defenses to always keep an eye on him.
