Outstanding Player: Amari Odom Amari Odom 6'3" | CG Panther Creek | 2023 State NC , HoopState Select
Odom was an impressive prospect on the Big Shots stage once again, showing off his ability to run the show, lead by example, defend and make plays. He’s a confident three-level scorer that does well to read the defense and get points with ease. He finished second in the division in 3-pointers made (9), while producing 15.3 ppg alongside a talented squad.
Pure Scorer: Micah Jones Micah Jones 5'11" | PG Holly Springs | 2023 State NC , Strong Center Elite
Jones was impressive scoring the basketball on all three levels, leading the division in total points (69) while averaging 17.3 ppg. He’s a shifty ballhandler that isn’t afraid to operate on the perimeter or in the paint. As he learns when to distribute and when to score, he’s one to keep eyes on in the 2023 class.
Best Shooter: Calvin Davinroy Calvin Davinroy 6'3" | SF Oceanside Collegiate | 2023 State SC ,, Lowcountry Storm
Davinroy was impressive shooting the basketball all over the floor for Lowcountry Storm. When his team needed offense, he came through time and time again showing off his impressive stroke from the floor. He knocked down seven 3-pointers while also averaging 18.3 ppg, which led the 15U division. He’s a gritty wing prospect worth tracking early from the state of South Carolina.
Hard to Guard: Keshawn Brown Keshawn Brown 5'11" | SG Cary Academy | 2023 NC , HoopState Select
Brown was another shifty guard out of the backcourt for HoopState Select that was a burden to guard on the floor. He exploded for 21 points in the title game over Strong Center Elite, showing off his ability to get to the free throw line and knock down shots on the perimeter. He’s another prospect on their roster to watch.
Paint Presence: Jaybron Harvey Jaybron Harvey 6'5" | PF Southern Durham | 2023 State NC , HoopState Select
Harvey is an impressive prospect in the frontcourt at 6-foot-4 that plays strong on both ends. He’s got tons of strength and athleticism at his disposal to operate around the rim as a shot-blocker and rim-runner and did well playing that role for a dominant squad this past weekend.
