Many players have shown enough simply on tape and colleges are watching now more than ever as they navigate these untested waters.
Here is a look at some of the summer stock risers from Florida in the 2022 class.
Javon Bennett Javon Bennett 5'11" | CG Trinity Prep | 2022 State FL | 5-11 | Trinity Prep
A true speedster, Bennett is a serious and consistent deep ball shooter. He uses his 3-pointer to his advantage often, handles the ball well and controls the floor with his mix of athleticsim and IQ. I love the way he battles on defense as he simply is a pest and is always looking for the steal. Stetson has offered and I expect more schools to follow suit here soon. He is in for a major junior campaign.
Aidan Abell Aidan Abell 6'6" | SG Westminster Academy | 2022 State FL | 6-5 | Westminster/Team Florida
The overall focus and athleticism from Abell are shining brightly with Team Florida here as of late. He can dunk with ease, get to the rack with his speed and strength and he’s a reliable knockdown shooter. Abell made the move to Westminster last season after playing at Coral Springs Charter. He’s a combo guard who is the prototype longer framed collegiate athlete. Look for his stock to rise tremendously this fall.
Dominic Gooden Dominic Gooden 6'0" | CG PHS Academy | 2022 State FL | 6-0 | Sickles/PHS Elite
Confidence is certainly not an issue for Gooden. He is maturing at the right time and gaining the respect of everyone he plays against. With PHS Elite this summer, he continues to battle, lead the charge and finish strong inside. His game is peaking right now and his various lay-ins and mid-range touch are reliable. Expect to hear Gooden’s name a ton this season.
Anthony Davis | 6-5 | Bishop McLaughlin/Big Shots Elite-Tricities
You can see Davis taking defense seriously all game long and displaying plenty of pure athleticness to get to the cup and dunk or lay-in buckets. Making the move from Blake to Bishop McLaughlin alongside his teammate Emanuel Sharp Emanuel Sharp 6'5" | SG Bishop McLaughlin | 2022 State #66 Nation FL , Davis plays very unselfishly. His effort level on both ends of the floor is something that stands out. Davis has offers from James Madison, Bryant and Fairfield currently. He is going to continue to improve.
Jose Amat Jose Amat 5'9" | CG Florida Christian | 2022 State FL | 5-9 | Florida Christian
Amat’s 3-point shot has always been his top asset but his game is expanding. During this COVID-19 rittled summer, he’s been playing games against older players and working his all-around game. He’s a vision passer who uses his speed to set up others and the consistent threat of his jumper. When you watch Amat, you see a smaller guard who plays with a chip on his shoulder and something to prove always. He’s drawing interest from Division III schools Sage, Bates and Stonehill.
Drew Kousaie Drew Kousaie 5'11" | CG Windermere Prep | 2022 State FL | 5-11 | Windermere Prep/Team Florida
On a deep Windermere Prep squad, Kousaie wasn’t asked to do too much a season ago outside of shoot it. He is getting quicker, stronger and smarter. In the film study with Team Florida I’ve done, he has looked like a determined and laser focused prospect as a shooter and driver. The opportunity is there for Kousaie to make his name known this season at the high school level.
