Some players felt they were ranked too low. Well, if a high school basketball season takes place, every kid will be able to show why they’re worth moving up.
Let’s get people talking some more.
Here are prospects in the class who could make a jump.
Hayden Ledbetter Hayden Ledbetter 5'10" | PG Lausanne | 2022 State TN , Lausanne
The 5-10 point guard has been working on his jump shot this summer. That’s the part of his game he needs to master. Ledbetter is already one of the best passers in the 2022 class. His court vision is far ahead than a lot of point guards in his class. Once Ledbetter consistently knocks down 17-foot jumpers, he should, eventually, crack the top 15.
Cedquavious Hunter Cedquavious Hunter 5'11" | PG University School Of Jackson | 2022 MS , Cordova
The 5-11 combo guard was fired up after seeing he was ranked No. 22. Hunter told his new head coach Terrance Scales that he’s going to wake a lot of people up. Hunter is very talented, quick and shifty. He’s hard to stay in front of and can light it up offensively when he’s ready to do so. Hunter is another kid that could crack the top 15.
Daniel Egbuniwe Daniel Egbuniwe 6'6" | SF FACS | 2022 State TN , FACS
The 6-6 forward landed at No. 13 in the first 2022 player rankings. That’s not a bad starting spot for Egbuniwe, but he has the potential to crack the top 10. Egbuniwe is very reliable on both ends of the court. He contests shots at the rim and goes after every ball coming off the rim. Egbuniwe can knock down mid-range shots. If his ball handles improve, I don’t know how he’s left out of the top 10 by his senior year.
Harmonta Griggs Harmonta Griggs 6'2" | SG Fayette Ware | 2022 TN , Fayette Ware
Griggs is just naturally gifted offensively. He can light it up from deep at any moment. Griggs just needs to realize how good he is. I’m not sure if he realizes that a chance to play college basketball somewhere is right in front of him. Griggs just needs to take every practice serious and take every possession in a live game serious. Right now, he’s No. 32. Griggs being in the top 30 isn’t farfetched.
Cade Pendleton Cade Pendleton 6'10" | PF East Hamilton | 2022 State TN , East Hamilton
Pendleton coming in at No. 35 should keep him going in the right direction. The 6-8 forward can stretch the floor because of his shooting ability. The 3-point line is his best friend, especially in transition. Pendleton can post up as well. His footwork isn’t half stepping nor is his rebounding. Pendleton cracking the top 25 is definitely a possibility.
