And I’m not done giving out my predictions.
In this short write-up, there’s one player that could make a huge jump if he has a stellar junior season.
Enough of the introduction, let’s get to the next five.
Justin Morgan, Memphis Nighthawks: The 6-foot-6 shooting guard landed at No. 70 in the first rankings. Morgan won’t stay there for long. He’s offensively gifted. Morgan has solid post moves and can make shots from the perimeter. He puts forth effort on the defensive end as well by contesting shots at the rim. Morgan has the makeup of a top 35 prospect.
Kalib Brooks, Freedom Prep: Brooks had some good moments last season. He also had some bad moments as the team’s starting point guard. Brooks seemed to force passes and shots. He didn’t seem to be patient. Hopefully, he has improved on his patience because he’s a talented player. Brooks loves to score, but can he turn into more of a facilitator? That’s what I want to see during the 2020-21 season. He will playing alongside Bakari Johnson Bakari Johnson 6'6" | SG Freedom Prep | 2022 State TN and Bwerani Johnson Jr. Bwerani Johnson Jr. 6'1" | CG Freedom Prep | 2021 State TN , two players that should be at the top of Class A in scoring. Brooks sits at No. 50. If he tightens up his passing and court vision, Brooks could move up some spots.
P.J. Hillman, Cordova: Hillman is so athletic and had flashes last season on how good he can be. Since he will be under Terrance Scales’ umbrella, Hillman will only get better within the next two years. He’s on the outskirts of the top 50 at No. 51. Hillman cracking the top 50 at some point shouldn’t be hard for him to do if he progresses.
Kobe Wilkes, FACS: Wilkes is one guard who isn’t afraid to take shots during pivotal moments of the game. He’s also unselfish and knows how to make the right pass. Wilkes is already in the top 50 at No. 43. Scoring at an efficient rate will help Wilkes make a case for a spot inside the top 40.
Kristain Spencer, Whitehaven: Spencer is another athletic guard in this class. He plays very physical on both ends of the floor. To only be a 6-2 guard, Spencer loves to crash the boards. His 3-point shooting isn’t quite sharp yet, but he has shown the ability to knock down shots inside the 3-point line. If Spencer gets better offensively, he has a chance to crack the top 60.
