AJ Storr AJ Storr 6'3" | SG Kankakee | 2021 IL (Illinois Hoopstars Willis)
Storr started out the summer as a 2021 prospect from Kankakee with a D2 grade. He finished the summer as a 2022 prospect from Bishop Gorman (NV) with a mid-major grade. Quite a bit changed in a short time span for this strong bodied wing. He played mostly on the Hoopstars Willis 17U squad. Was dominant as a three level scorer in every single event he participated in. Drilled threes at a clip that we were amazed by as we had never seen him shoot it that well before from deep. Mixed in mid-range shots pulling up. Explosive finisher winning off the dribble with his strength, burst, and athleticism. Potential to be a plus defender at the next level as he was impactful on that end during the summer.
Christian Meeks Christian Meeks 6'6" | SF Homewood Flossmoor | 2022 State IL (Illinois Hoopstars National)
Meeks is a high energy forward that plays harder than anyone on the floor. That translates into production. The Homewood Flossmoor combo forward was a beast on the glass owning it in almost every game we saw him all summer. He is so quick with an elite second jump. Gets a ton of his points off second chance opportunities on the glass. Big time rim runner in transition for easy buckets. Flashed an evolving game off the dribble. Defensively he is one of the top players in his class guarding all over the floor with the best of them.
Martell Webb Martell Webb 6'7" | C Tinley Park | 2022 State IL (Illinois Hoopstars National)
This Westinghouse post went from a prospect that showed some potential during the high school season, but was a long ways off to a dominant force in July. Webb is a wide bodied five man that has gotten in better shape since the end of the high school season and improved his all-around game. Displayed nimble footwork on the block to go along with his power game which was tough for anyone to contain. Soft touch around the hoop and has excellent hands. Big time area rebounder that snatches them in traffic.
Patrick Robinson Patrick Robinson 6'4" | SG Oswego East | 2022 State IL . (HIT)
Robinson made his debut in our latest 2022 rankings based on his sophomore film where he was playing on the sophomore team. We couldn’t believe he wasn’t a major player on the varsity after watching it. During the summer he solidified himself as a legit D1 prospect. Big and strong wing that is a straight bucket getter. Rises up over defenders for jumpers. Burst off the dribble getting downhill and is a force in transition with a head of steam behind him.
Tavari Johnson (Young & Reckless)
Like Robinson, Johnson didn’t play on the varsity level last year for Lyons. The point guard lived up to the hype we had heard behind the scenes heading into the summer. In the one event he played Johnson might have been the best 16U player in field from Illinois. Smaller point guard that is a high level decision maker, slick ball handler, and gets to the rim for acrobatic layups. The second day he answered all the questions with the jumper drilling pull ups one after another.
