The weekly column is back this week with a wide variety of topics as there is still plenty to talk about in the world of high school basketball. Chris Mack and his staff sit fairly well with both Ingram and Reid. However, I am not confident yet in picking Louisville as where each of them will go to college. Right now they are both in the process of talking to coaches on the phone and doing zoom calls with different programs. Until these kids can go back on campus for visits, there is no real telling on where exactly a kid might stand in the recruitment process.

The top ranked prospect in the state of Virginia for the 2021 class continues to be a hot topic on where he will end up for college. Ever since the pandemic, nothing at all has really changed with him since he has not been able to take any visits. Right now, I still believe Virginia and Villanova are the two leaders and I will give Virginia the SLIGHT edge and then I will go with Duke and Ohio State behind them. Keels is another prospect that wants to get on campuses for visits before anything is decided.
“If the recruiting dead period gets extended through September, do you think recruits who have been holding off decisions to take visits may start committing rather than waiting for visits?” –@JoeBoxley
Definitely. We are already seeing that trend happen now as there are more kids from the rising senior class committed right now than there have been in previous years. There are kids that really want to wait and take visits to colleges but it is only a matter of time until these kids are going to have to commit without visits if the whole recruiting period keeps on getting pushed back.
