The summer season is more for ball dominant guards, but big men are still able to stand out. The Unity Legends Showcase was a great example of that as the post players had strong performances. Here are the top big men from the Unity Legends Showcase.
Logan Howland Logan Howland 6'7" | PF Hun | 2023 NJ , 6’7 PF Westfield 2022
Howland had a strong showing during the Unity Legends Showcase as he proved why he is one of the better big men in Group 4. The 6’7 power forward has a good low post game and plays with great footwork. Howland did not just score down low as he knocked down a couple mid-range jumpers. He works hard on the glass and plays solid post defense. Howland is a versatile power forward prospect who should have a strong season for the Unity Legends 16U Black team.
Chase Clarke Chase Clarke 6'5" | SF Newark Academy | 2022 State NJ , 6’5 SF/PF Newark Academy 2022
Clarke may be more of a combo forward,but his play down low at the showcase is proof that he can play power forward. The 6’5 forward attacked the basket strong and use his strong frame to finish shots through contact. Clarke can handle the ball on the perimeter and made several nice passes during the showcase. He played solid defense and ripped down rebounds on both ends of the floor. Clarke is a strong forward prospect who will be a key part of the Unity Legends 16U squad.
Tommy Conniff Tommy Conniff 6'10" | C Oratory Prep | 2022 State NJ , 6’9 PF/C Oratory Prep 2022
Conniff had a good performance during the showcase as he proved his ability to be a stretch four. The 6’9 lefty has a nice touch around the basket and knows how to create space down low. Conniff stepped outside and knocked down a couple of jumpers. He has a good handle and is a good passer out of the post. Conniff is a skilled big man prospect who is a good compliment to Clarke down low.
Jack Spellman Jack Spellman 6'8" | PF Westfield | 2021 State NJ , 6’8 PF Westfield 2021
Spellman was one of the top shooters at the Unity Legends Showcase as he knocked down three shots from behind the arc. The 6’8 stretch four has a good release on his jumper and moves well off the ball. Spellman has a good handle and can beat his man off the bounce. He has a nice touch around the basket and works hard on the glass. Spellman is a true stretch four who should have a good summer session for the Unity Legends 17U team.
Lucas Pavlounis Lucas Pavlounis 6'9" | C Oratory Prep | 2021 State NJ , 6’9 C Oratory Prep 2021
Pavlounis is a hard-working post player whose motor never stops. The 6’9 post player knows how to get position down low. Pavlounis has a nice touch around the basket and has a nose for offensive rebounds. He plays good post defense and uses his length to block shots. Pavlounis is a tough post player who is the perfect compliment down low for Spellman on the 17U team.
Sean Logan Sean Logan 6'10" | PF Westfield | 2022 State NJ , 6’7 PF Westfield 2022
Logan is an intriguing post prospect as he affects the game in multiple ways. The lanky 6’7 forward has a nice release on his jumper and has range that extends past the three-point line. Logan can handle the ball on the perimeter and makes good decisions with the ball in his hands. He is also a skilled shot-blocker as he uses his combination of length and timing to swat shots. Logan is a skilled big man prospect who should have a big season for the Unity Legends 16U Black team.
