Many teams during the summer are missing players due to other sports, vacations, or conflicts. This gives opportunities to some freshman and sophomore players that they might not get otherwise. At the first of two OSA High School Jamborees, these are the underclassmen that played the best in their three games.
Sophomores
1. Tate Odvody Tate Odvody 6'4" | SF Omaha Westside | 2023 State NE
Odvody is in a different jersey this summer after transferring to Westside high school for his sophomore year. The combo forward can score and create for himself at all three levels. He has great touch inside to finish high arching shots over taller defenders. Odvody will give the Warriors some much needed size this upcoming season.
2. Josiah Dotzler Josiah Dotzler 6'3" | CG Bellevue West | 2023 State #225 Nation NE
Dotzler impressed with his ability to get the ball up the court quickly and make plays in transition. He has a smooth left handed jump shot and can stop on a dime and pull up in the midrange. Dotzler will share the ball handling duties in the Bellevue West backcourt in his sophomore season.
3. Jaxon Stueve Jaxon Stueve 6'4" | SF Bellevue West | 2023 State NE
Stueve is another Thunderbird that will make an impact in his second season. He is a long wing that can spot up as a shooter and use his length to score at the rim. He may jump into a starting role or be the first man off the bench this season after appearing in 6 games as a freshman for the Class A state champs.
4. Rylan Smith Rylan Smith 6'1" | PG Lincoln Southwest | 2023 State NE
Smith had a good freshman season, averaging 6.3 points per game, but he looks ready to take things to a different level in year two. He was aggressive scoring the ball at the Jamboree and made some plays as a ball handler and facilitator. Smith is a good athlete that contributes on both ends of the floor.
5. Trey Moseman Trey Moseman 6'0" | SG Platteview | 2023 State NE
Moseman shot it well from three all afternoon. He has good footwork, balance, and awareness to get behind the three point line. He has range on his shot and gets the ball out of his hands quickly. Moseman will be an offensive weapon for Millard South in his sophomore year.
6. Maal Jal Maal Jal 6'4" | SF Papio South | 2023 State NE
Jal can play either forward position and has good size and strength. He surprises defenders with quick crossovers and bursts of speed. He is a good defender on the interior that can uses his length to contest shots and rebound. Jal will give the Patriots versatility at the forward position.
7. Devyn Jones Devyn Jones 5'11" | SG Papillion-LaVista South | 2023 State NE
Jones plays hard every time he is on the floor, and this team camp was no different. He has good hands defensively and looks to run in transition and finish through contact. Jones also made some good passes to teammates running the floor.
Freshman
1. Will Cooper Will Cooper 6'6" | SF Millard South | 2024 State NE
Cooper got hot early in the day knocking in back to back threes against Bellevue West and he didn’t miss much after that. He frequently found himself with space on the perimeter and converted. He also showed off his soft touch finishing a pretty floater in transition.
2. Jaden Jackson Jaden Jackson 6'1" | SG Bellevue West | 2024 State #312 Nation NE
Jackson is a strong and athletic combo guard that looks different from most other freshman. He hit some catch and shoot jumpers from outside and held his own defensively, getting a few poke aways.

Bennings is a physical three and D athlete. He gets up and down the court and converted on his open three point opportunities.

Mitchell competed defensively all afternoon by pressuring ball handlers and having active hands. He spaced the floor, hit a couple jump shots, and finished breakaway layups.
5. Wes Frost
Frost still has a lot of growing to do, but he gave the Dragons depth at the guard position at the team camp. He has a good looking jump shot and moves the ball well offensively.
