Some of the top uncommitted seniors to be in the state have had themselves some solid summer campaigns up to this point, and in my opinion, should see their stock starting to rise up.
Lucas Vogt Lucas Vogt 5'11" | PG BRLD | 2021 State NE – BRLD/OSA Adidas 3SSB
There may be no better pure point guard in the state of Nebraska than Lucas Vogt Lucas Vogt 5'11" | PG BRLD | 2021 State NE . There’s a reason he’s playing with OSA’s top team this summer and has made significant contributions in their first two weekends of action. This past weekend in Kansas City for the Sunflower Showcase, Vogt was a crucial cog in OSA going 3-1 on the weekend. He finished the weekend with 27 total points on 10-14 shooting (5-5 3pt), 2-3 ft. Most impressively for me, he had 13 assists, ten rebounds, 13 steals, and only three turnovers on the weekend when OSA was matched up against the likes of KC Run GMC, Howard Pulley, and Grassroots Sizzle. The most common gripe with Vogt is his height at 5’11-6’0, and frankly, that should be an afterthought because he is an elite competitor and just wins. He has no problem running an offense full of high-level prospects, as well as being able to make big-time plays when called upon. He’s an explosive point guard, with incredibly high basketball IQ who can do everything you’d like a point guard to do for you.
Cam Binder Cam Binder 6'0" | CG Auburn | 2021 State NE – Auburn/OSA Adidas 3SSB
There may be no better pure shooter in the state than Cam Binder Cam Binder 6'0" | CG Auburn | 2021 State NE . He isn’t even a senior yet, and he’s already a two-time state champion. Binder recently picked up an offer from D2 Minot State, and more D2s and even some lower level D1s should take a good look at him. Binder also plays for OSA’s top team, and this past weekend in Kansas City, he finished the weekend 11-16 from 3 point range, which is good for 68.8% from a distance. More than anything, Binder just plays smart, he’s the perfect off guard perimeter shooter at the next level.
Kwat Abdelkarim Kwat Abdelkarim 6'3" | CG Lincoln Northstar | 2021 State NE – Lincoln North Star/Lincoln Supreme National
The 6’3 combo guard, Abdelkarim, is one of the most athletic guards in the state. He’s playing with Lincoln Supreme this summer, and this past weekend at Session 1 of the Hardwood Classic, he averaged 15 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Kwat is an efficient player, who is strong getting to the basket and savvy with the basketball. D2s, as well as low and mid D1s, should keep tabs on him going into his senior year.
Frankie Fidler Frankie Fidler 6'6" | SF Bellevue West | 2021 State NE – Bellevue West/Team Factory UA Rise
Frankie Fidler Frankie Fidler 6'6" | SF Bellevue West | 2021 State NE is one of the prospects hurt the most by the fact that there is no in-person recruiting from college coaches at summer events. Fidler, who grew up as a guard before hitting a mean growth spurt, uses his length to his advantage on both ends of the floor, especially on the perimeter. He has a good looking perimeter stroke, and also plays a very strong perimeter defense as well. He holds two D1 offers from Omaha and UC Santa Barbara, more mid-major schools should be following Frankie going into his senior season where his Bellevue West Thunderbirds will look to defend their Class A state title.
Denim Johnson Denim Johnson 6'1" | CG Omaha Central | 2021 State NE – Omaha Central/OSA Adidas 3SSB
In the first two weekends of action for OSA, Denim Johnson Denim Johnson 6'1" | CG Omaha Central | 2021 State NE has embraced a role that not most 6’1 guards can thrive in, shot blocker. Johnson has some of the best leaping ability in the state, and when he isn’t throwing down highlight-reel dunks, he can chase down opponents and pin their layup attempts against the glass and also battle for rebounds. He has been all over the court for OSA. He is keen upon slashing to the basket, while also being able to dish it to his teammates for assists, as well as playing scrappy defense, even against bigger guards.
