The event was comprised of high school teams throughout the state of Utah. Here is a look at the top guard prospects in the event who are Division I caliber.
6’3 CG Isaac Finlinson Isaac Finlinson 6'6" | CG Dixie | 2021 State UT of Dixie HS 2021
Finlinson is a fairly athletic combo guard with long arms who runs very well. He’s a good ball handler and an outstanding passer who drops dimes consistently. He pushes the break and attacks on every possession. He finishes effectively in transition. Finlinson moves fairly well without without the ball and has a non-stop motor. He is also a decent rebounder from the guard position. Finlinson is thin and needs to develop bulk/strength to prepare for the next level but he’s a solid mid-major prospect who will merit higher consideration.
5’10 PG Yorgio Golesis Yorgio Golesis 5'10" | SG Skyline | 2023 State UT of Skyline HS 2023
Golesis is an energetic one-man with a versatile all-around game. He has solid ball handling and passing skills and loves the up-tempo game. He pulls up very nicely in the half court. Golesis can shoot it pretty well with long range and has an effective floater. He is a Division I prospect with the ultimate level to be determined.
6’3 SG Noah Moeaki Noah Moeaki 6'4" | CG American Fork | 2022 State UT of American Fork HS 2022
Moeaki is an energetic two guard with a solid skill set. He’s a confident ball handler who makes a lot happen and he can score some in every way possible. He shoots it ok from the perimeter (3 range), has an effective pull-up game mid- range, he gets to the basket on the drive and he has some ability to post-up. Moeaki is also a football prospect and that is his primary sport but he is definitely a low major prospect in basketball.
6’3 SG Trace Ross Trace Ross 6'3" | PG Corner Canyon | 2021 State UT of Corner Canyon HS 2021
Ross is a strong and active two guard who can run the floor. He’s a solid ball handler and a real good passer who gets things done in transition. He has a nice pull-up game half court and he’s a real good shooter with 3 range. Most impressively, Ross goes really hard to the basket on the drive, and significantly, he competes on every play. Ross is a low major prospect but if a higher-level school needs a walk-on, this is your guy.
6’0 PG Jordan Ross Jordan Ross 6'3" | PG Link Academy | 2023 #132 Nation MO of Pleasant Grove HS 2023
Ross is an athletic one-man with long arms who had a solid performance at this event. He has impressive ball handling and passing skills and gets a lot done on the break and is consistently able to finish. He shoots it fairly well with 3-range and he has a nice hesitation floater. Ross has a good first step and can break down defenders on the drive. He is thin and must get some bulk and strength to prepare for the next level. He is a mid level division I prospect at this point with potential for more.
