The Circuit League: All-Tournament First Team (16U)
The Circuit League began Thursday night at Drive Nation and was stacked with talented prospects from every age group. The Circuit League is on July 2nd and 3rd and will return on July 16th and 17th. Here is a team composed of some of the best players I saw from 16U.
Noah Shelby Noah Shelby 6'2" | PG Greenhill | 2022 State #139 Nation TX – Drive Nation – G
Noah Shelby Noah Shelby 6'2" | PG Greenhill | 2022 State #139 Nation TX was one of the best guards in the tournament and was dialed in from three-point range all weekend long. He has great confidence and has the ability to score at all three levels. Shelby also is an underrated passer that looks to feed the post often. He has a smooth handle and the ability to create space with ease.
Gabe Seat Gabe Seat 5'11" | PG Edmond Memorial | 2022 State OK – Team Buddy Buckets – G
Gabe Seat Gabe Seat 5'11" | PG Edmond Memorial | 2022 State OK is an elite shooter that can also be a good distributor. He has good vision and found open shooters all weekend long. Seat also has a nice handle and has the ability to blow by his defender and finish with a floater or a layup at the rim. Seat is a very intriguing prospect that gets it done on the offensive end of the floor.
Rylan Griffen Rylan Griffen 6'5" | SG Richardson | 2022 State #72 Nation TX – Drive Nation – G
Rylan Griffen Rylan Griffen 6'5" | SG Richardson | 2022 State #72 Nation TX was locked in on both ends of the floor and brought energy to the loaded Drive Nation team. He blocked multiple jump shots and played tough on-ball defense. Offensively, Griffen scored at all three levels and showed his ability to hit difficult shots. He is one of the best guards in Texas for the class of 2022 and has multiple division one offers.
Savion Red Savion Red 6'1" | 195 lbs | G Grand Prairie | 2022 TX – Texas Legion Elite – G
Red was the best all-around athlete in the tournament and makes his presence felt on both ends of the floor. His energy is unmatched and he is a competitor. On the defensive end of the floor, he is a great shot blocker and takes pride in locking his man down. His game, role, and demeanor remind me of Draymond Green during the Warriors’ championship runs and he is very valuable to his team.
Lee Dort Lee Dort 6'10" | C Greenhill School | 2022 State #67 Nation TX – Drive Nation – F
Dort was the best big in the tournament and impacts the game on both ends of the floor. On the defensive end of the floor, he is a strong low post presence and an elite shot blocker. He is a strong finisher that is unfazed by contact. Dort is also a great rebounder and pulls everything that comes off the rim.
