Each session has 80 prospects in it. Here is a list of prospects who stood out on Day 2 of the Session I event.
Familiar faces from Day 1 who stood out on Day 2 as well:
Terrance Arceneaux Terrance Arceneaux 6'7" | SF Beaumont United | 2022 State #46 Nation TX
Matthew Lewis
Damian Watson
Dubem Muoneke
Prospects that Stood out on Day 2:
Hudson Boyd 6’3″ SG | Lake Creek HS [Montgomery, TX] 2021
Knocked down seven triples in the first game of the day for his squad. He is a good catch and shoot prospect. He isn’t a flashy basketball player, just really fundamentally sound. He keeps the floor space. Makes good cuts. Uses screens and comes off of them tightly. He made a couple of nice plays with the ball in his hands.
Peter Mckey 6’2″ CG | Alief Hastings HS [Houston, TX] 2021
Playing tough on-ball defense and getting to the rim and finishing. He was very pesky and his opponents knew when he was on the court. He forced his opponent to turn the ball over for three straight possessions, a timeout was called and he came right back out and forced two more straight turnovers. High energy prospect with a great motor who gets after it. Has really good stop-n-go moves with the ball in his hands.
Austin Benigni Austin Benigni 5'10" | PG The Woodlands Christian | 2022 State TX 5’11″ PG | The Woodlands Christian Academy [The Woodlands, TX] 2022
Austin is just a super tough assignment. He guarded his opponents toughly in the title game. He always shows up for the big games when the lights are the brightest and coaches see that in this young prospect. Knocked down some tough mid-range contested jumpers and got to the rim where he finished with up and under or inside hand layups.
Jake Arnold Jake Arnold 6'3" | SG Katy Taylor | 2021 State TX 6’1″ SG | Taylor HS [Katy, TX] 2021
Jake played well in the title game as well. He was also getting second-chance buckets as he was crashing the boards. He also has a nice hesi game that I’ve never seen before. Made some tough buckets and got to his spots. He is a known three-point specialist and he let a couple of them fly. He was always in the help position defensively and he’s a prospect who gets fouled a lot and he doesn’t complain much because it’s not called.
Jaylen Benard Jaylen Benard 6'3" | CG Cypress Ranch | 2023 State TX 6’1″ G | Cypress Ranch HS [Cypress, TX] 2023
Jaylen had a really big game in the earlier game. He put up some good numbers for his squad and led them into the title game. Had 22 points went 9/11 from the field and 4/5 from behind the arc. He was in his bag as he was taking his man off the dribble. Had some nice dribble combos to get his shot off. Moving great without the ball. Finishing at the room through contact.
Sean Elkinton Sean Elkinton 6'7" | PF Crosby | 2022 State TX 6’7″ PF | Crosby HS [Crosby, TX] 2022
Sean was a double-double machine in all games of the event, but on Day 2 he was doing big numbers. He stayed on the glass on both sides of the ball. He was finishing at the rim via putbacks and playing with his back to the basket. He knocked down a couple of outside jumpers and ran the lane. He also had multiple blocks and didn’t force much when he had the ball in his hands. Coaches get your eyes on him ASAP.
Colby Rasberry 6’1″ SG | Cypress Ranch HS [Cypress, TX] 2022
Shooter, that’s the sums it up in a nutshell. Don’t leave this prospect any space in the corner he hits it at a high clip. He also has good elevation on his jumper. He kept his opponent on the move as he was all over the court. This is the second event that I have seen him play very consistently.
Trevor Passmore Trevor Passmore 6'2" | SG Cypress Woods | 2021 State TX 6’2″ CG | Cypress Woods HS [Cypress, TX] 2021
Camp Trevor is way different from high school squad Trevor. Trevor is a tough assignment and if his coach lets him loose a little for his senior campaign his recruitment will receive a big boost. He has a great handle on the ball. Plays with multiple speeds with the rock in his hands. Scores on all levels of the floor. He is patient in the flow of the offense and makes the right reads. Has good timing to jump passes as well.
