Here were some of the top players from Saturday play:
Justin Wohlers Justin Wohlers 6'6" | PF Lake City | 2022 State MN , MN Lightning Ellerbusch
Wohlers has proven his mettle as a sniper with Lake City each of the last two years and that’s the first thing that stands out about him now – outside of some physical growth – but he showed more off-the-dribble juice over the weekend than previously seen. He’s long and used his length and strength to finish at a solid rate in traffic, and his ability to rebound out of his area was a big plus.
Antonio Blueitt, Comets De Los Reyes
Blueitt is going to be one of the better players in the 2022 class and he showed all of his strengths over the weekend. He’s a smooth multi-level scorer and has an effortless look about him, and his ability to seemingly take over stretches of a game are rare. He’s an excellent decision-maker and playmaker who makes the game easy for his teammates, and he’s capable of playing excellent defense on any perimeter position.
Maddox Alipate Maddox Alipate 6'1" | PG Benilde-St. Margaret's | 2022 State MN , Fury Wilde
Alipate was one of the better lead guards in Sioux Falls Saturday, showcasing his ability to shoot from the perimeter, bully defenders on his way to the paint and make plays. He’s comfortable handling the ball in a crowd and his assertiveness and attack-mode style puts pressure on opposing defenders at all times.
Parker Behne Parker Behne 5'11" | PG Elk River | 2022 State MN , Comets Belka
Behne showed off a pretty outside jumper throughout play Saturday, and does a great job playing off the ball and getting into position where he can be a threat in catch-and-shot spots. He’s got a good handle and can create his own shot off the bounce when defenders close too hard too.
Daniel Ijadimbola, MN Select Davis
Ijadimbola was excellent in stretches for Select Davis Saturday, routinely showing an explosivenss set apart from the competition. His ability disrupt offensive flow by pressuring the passing lanes made life very difficult for opposing teams and he was a terror to defend either in transition or when given a head of steam.
