As we move further into the Summer these prospects are still hoping to get an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of coaches, scouts, and media. Here’s a few I would be watching if we get the opportunity.
Takai Emerson-Hardy Takai Emerson-Hardy 6'7" | SF Vanden | 2022 State CA-N 6’6 Wing/Forward Vanden HS (Fairfield, CA)
Emerson-Hardy is arguably one of the top prospects in this NorCal C/O of 2022’s. At 6’6 and already pretty strong he has room to add muscle to his frame which would make him hard to guard in the post area. He plays an all around solid game, defends, rebounds, and block shots with his long reach. He can handle the ball well enough to rebound and push in transition. He has an improved mid-range game. Expanding his range out to the 3 pt line would see his stock rise. DI prospect with offers.
Kendall Allen Kendall Allen 5'11" | CG Vacaville Christian | 2022 CA-N 5’11 Point Guard, Vacaville Christian HS (Vacaville, CA)
Allen’s a scoring point guard on this team, he averaged 21.8 ppg and earned first team All League in the Sierra Delta League, he was one of the top scores in this county going for 40 in one game with six 3’s. Vacaville Christian is a small school that plays Div 6, so he doesn’t get the attention that some of the upper division schools get. Allen is a good point guard who has good handles, quality passing, and speed to go along with his ability to score points. He’s on Wright’s Prospects watch list.
Tariq Johnson 6’0 Point Guard, St. Patrick-St. Vincent HS (Vallejo, CA)
Johnson an up and coming prospect whose best days are in front of him. He was a good role player coming off the bench for a team that went 26-11 and 8-2, and made a deep run in the play-offs. He has all the tools to be a quality defender, he has good speed, lateral movement , and active hands, he’s a pesky on ball defender full court. His handles are decent, good vision, and passing skills. I expect he’ll have an increased role with this team.
Antione Henderson 6’5 Wing Vanden HS (Fairfield, CA)
Henderson has a nice frame, he looks like he might grow a few more inches and add some muscle. An athletic player with good bounce, he was a role player on a team that was loaded with talent and has a good group coming back. He’s long, has good foot speed for his size, and can play on the perimeter. He could be a sleeper. He’s on Wright’s Prospect watch list.
Krishna Clay 6’3 Small Forward, Will C Wood HS ( Vacaville, CA)
Clay’s a good player having to play the post at 6’3 for this team. He works well in and around the basket, he moves well on offense setting multiple screens in one possession, he’s always looking to box out any player in his area. He works well from the high post with good solid passing to the wings and he can hit the elbow jumper. Clay is active on the defensive end, and has shown he can guard on the perimeter. A Glue Guy.
Other Players on Wright’s Watch List
Gavin Lane 6’4 Wing, Benicia HS ( Benicia, Ca)
Miles Bailey 6’4 Forward, Benicia HS, 2 sport athlete, football (Benicia, CA)
Jeremiah Caldwell 6’2 Guard, Fairfield HS, 2 sport athlete, football (Fairfield, CA)
