Team workouts provide great opportunities as they create chances for them to go up against high level competition. The ShoreShots 15U session was filled with talented players who should make an impact in 2020-21. Here are the top standouts from the ShoreShots 15U practice.
Aaron Goldstein, 5’10 PG Xaverian (NY)
Goldstein was electric throughout the practice as he demonstrated his ability to blow by his defender in the halfcourt. The 5’10 guard showcased a great handle and made several nifty layups around the basket. Goldstein competed during the live sessions and plays with extreme confidence. He is a good passer and knows how to push the ball in transition. Goldstein is a skilled point guard prospect who is the perfect fit to run the 15U Orange Team.
Carson Howard Carson Howard 6'7" | PF Archbishop Wood | 2023 State PA , 6’8 PF/C Lacey
Howard had a strong showing throughout the practice, proving he is one of the top post players in the 2023 class. The 6’8 forward showed off good footwork in the big man drills and finished the ball with authority. Howard made several nice post moves during the 1-on-1 sessions and ran the floor hard. He fought hard for rebounds on both ends of the floor and played solid post defense. Howard is a skilled big man prospect who should have a good summer for the 15U Orange Team.
Kyle Verriest Kyle Verriest 5'11" | PG St. John Vianney | 2023 State NJ , 5’11 PG St. John Vianney
Verriest is a competitor on both ends of the floor and showed that during the practice. The 5’11 guard fought for every loose ball during the fullcourt 3-on-2 drills and was relentless on defense. Verriest attacked the basket strong during the 1-on-1 sessions and made several nifty layups around the rim. He showcased a good handle and ran the offense during the 5-on-5 games. Verriest is the perfect compliment to Goldstein in the backourt as his toughness and skill makes him a tough cover.
Jake Croce, 6’5 SF/PF Notre Dame
Croce is a combo forward, but he proved that he can play either position. The 6’5 forward showed off an array of nice post moves and solid footwork during the big man drills. Croce was hard to stop in the 1-on-1 drills as he was able to beat his man off the bounce and finish around the rim. He rebounded the ball well and played solid defense throughout the practice. Croce is a skilled forward prospect who should have a good season for the NJ ShoreShots Black Team.
Malachi Harris, 5’9 PG Freehold Township
Harris had a great workout as he demonstrated his ability to make plays with the ball in his hands. The 5’9 guard was electric off the dribble as he was able to get to the basket and finish. Harris played solid on-ball defense during the 1-on-1 sessions as he battled Goldstein. He pushed the ball well in transition and ran the offense smoothly during the 5-on-5 games.
