This tournament was a fantastic showcase of all of the talent in the area, many of which will receive a major uptick in recruiting! Be on the lookout for the rest of my coverage from this event!
Nolan Marold Nolan Marold 6'7" | C Thunderridge | 2021 State CO 2021 6’7 CHA- (Colorado Hawks Arnold) Thunderridge High School
Nolan is a fantastic rim protector; he came up with so many blocks this weekend. He seemed to strike fear into the hearts of his opponents if he was underneath the basket. He is agile and has quick feet allowing him to run the floor well and finish easy looks around the rim. I would like to see more outside into his game if he can begin to take defenders off the bounce and stretch the floor his game will be opened up tremendously.
John Barnhill 2021 6’8 Colorado Anarchy 17U- Thompson Valley High School
John is a massive paint presence who is an impressive defender. On defense, he is good at blocking shots and striking fear into the hearts of his opponents when they drive into the paint. His intelligence on the defensive end of the floor allows him to slide over and draw charges. He is great as a last defender and cleans up a lot of his teammate’s mistakes on defense. I would like to see more post moves down low, because with his strength and ability to bully his opponents down low he should be able to score with ease.
Terrance Ferguson Terrance Ferguson 6'4" | PF Heritage | 2021 CO 2021 6’5 Colorado Mayhem- Turner 17U- Heritage High School
Terrance is a dual-sport athlete who just committed to the University of Oregon to play tight end. His athleticism on the floor was incredibly impressive and he gets downhill with ease. He loves to throw down over the top of defenders and attacks the rim with great ferocity. His frame and strength allow him to dominate on the basketball court.
Ben Bowen Ben Bowen 6'5" | CG Mountain Vista | 2021 State CO 2021 6’5 CHA 17U Arnold- Mountain Vista High School
Ben is a recent commit to the University of Wyoming, and an athletic rim running forward. His ability to handle the ball in the full court and get downhill stood out. He had thunderous dunks in traffic and on the break this weekend and was easily one of the most impressive players at this tournament. Watch out for him to have a dominant senior campaign and really turn it on to succeed at the next level.
