* If you’re not listed and had a big weekend, it’s just because I missed it. My fault, not yours. Stay in my ear and make sure I see you next time around.
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Amont’e Allen-Johnson Amont’e Allen-Johnson 6'1" | PG Dream City Christian | 2023 State AZ (2023, G, Grand Blanc, Lansing Prospectors 2023)
This young Lansing Prospectors team has had a lot of success, and Allen is a big part of that. He showed precision with the ball this weekend, being able to distribute at any speed. Allen was also very efficient offensively.
Jamison Eklund Jamison Eklund 6'5" | PF Pewamo-Westphalia | 2023 State MI (2023, F, Pewamo-Wesphalia, Lansing Prospectors 2023)
There’s just a lot to like about Eklund’s game and potential as a prospect. He’s a versatile player that can fill a lot of roles on the court for a coach.
Triston Nichols Triston Nichols 6'2" | SF De La Salle | 2023 State MI (2023, G/F, Warren De La Salle, Team Holder)
Nichols played up 2 age groups for Team Holder, and he didn’t miss a beat. It takes a mentally and physically tough young man to make that leap. Nichols has a huge upside.
Teddy Williams Teddy Williams 6'6" | PF Grand Ledge | 2023 State MI (2023, PF, Lansing Prospectors 2023)
Williams continues to show why he’s a player to watch over the next few years. A slim and athletic 6-6 frame allows him to do a lot of different things. Williams showed his rebounding acumen and touch around the rim this weekend.
PLAYER OF THE WEEKEND
Jordan Briggs Jordan Briggs 6'0" | PG Muskegon | 2023 State MI (2023, G, Muskegon, UTS Elite 15u)
I’m on the Jordan Briggs Jordan Briggs 6'0" | PG Muskegon | 2023 State MI train and I’m willing to roll with it. The kid seems to just play with defenders. He attacks off the dribble and finishes with great body control. That body control, once learned how and when to use it, could remind us of Wendell Green Jr..
