Now it’s time to look at the class of 2021.
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Kobe Bufkin Kobe Bufkin 6'4" | SG Grand Rapids Christian | 2021 State #71 Nation MI (2021, CG, Grand Rapids Christian, Storm UA Rise)
Bufkin flat out showed why, in my opinion, he’s a top 50 senior prospect in the country.
Devan Boyd (2021, G, Grand Rapids Catholic Central, MBA 17u Adidas)
Boyd is a solid ball handler and scorer that adds a lot to a roster.
Bennie Crenshaw Bennie Crenshaw 5'10" | PG Waterford Kettering | 2021 State MI (2021, PG, Waterford Ketting, All Out Elite 17u)
Crenshaw is an explosive point guard that can play pass first or score first, whatever is needed.
Lucas Doty (2021, G, South Lyon, North Oakland Wolfpack 17u)
Doty is a hot name in grassroots basketball right now. He could be counted on as a scorer all weekend.
Ethan Erickson Ethan Erickson 6'1" | SG Forest Hills Northern | 2021 State MI (2021, SG, Forest Hills Northern, Storm UA Rise)
Erickson might just be the best pure shooter from deep in the state.
Kobe Haglund Kobe Haglund 6'3" | PG West Ottawa | 2022 State MI (2021, PG, West Ottawa, MBA Lakeshore)
Haglund moves the ball quickly and recognizes good looks at the basket.
Linden Holder Linden Holder 6'0" | PG De La Salle | 2021 State MI (2021, PG, Warren De La Salle, Team Holder 17u)
Holder was one of the top 3 players last weekend. He showed a creative scoring ability.
Tariq Humes Tariq Humes 6'1" | CG Farmington | 2021 IN (2021, PG, Farmington, All Out Elite 17u)
Humes showed solid ball skills, hitting a moving man with a pin point pass.
Jesse Lawson, Jr Jesse Lawson, Jr 6'4" | CG Walled Lake Northern | 2021 State MI (2021, CG, Walled Lake Northern, Michigan Cagers 17u)
Lawson showed a quick and smooth release on his jumper and the athleticism to get looks.
Blake Lund Blake Lund 6'1" | CG Linden | 2021 State MI (2021, CG, Linden, Oakland Elite)
Lund will be a steal for some college coach. There’s very few perimeter players as talented as Lund.
Reichen Lund Reichen Lund 6'6" | CG Linden | 2022 State MI (2021, SG, Linden, Oakland Elite)
If you like good old fashioned defensive specialists and glue guys….here’s your player.
Cole Pardon Cole Pardon 6'5" | SF Brandon | 2021 State MI (2021, G/F, Brandon, North Oakland Wolfpack 17u)
Pardon is making college coaches turn their heads this summer.
Kentrell Pullian Kentrell Pullian 6'0" | CG Benton Harbor | 2021 State MI (2021, CG, Benton Harbor, UTS Elite 17u)
Pullian controls his defender off the bounce.
Trip Riemersma Trip Riemersma 6'4" | SG Zeeland East | 2021 State MI (2021, SG, Zeeland East, Storm UA Rise)
Riemersma has developed a complete game and has a high ceiling.
Aidan Rubio Aidan Rubio 6'6" | SF Goodrich | 2021 State MI (2021, G/F, Goodrich, All Out Elite 17u)
Rubio is a rising prospect that has all the tools.
Devan Wilson (2021, PG, Grand Ledge, Michigan Cagers 17u)
Wilson was a consistent scorer and solid ball handler.
Marcus Wourman (2021, PG, East Lansing, Storm UA Rise)
Wourman played downhill with the ball in his hands.
PLAYER OF THE WEEKEND
Nate Brown Nate Brown 6'3" | CG Davison | 2021 State MI (2021, CG, Grand Blanc, Team Holder 17u)
Brown has been underrated for far too long. With performances like his this weekend, that won’t last long. He averaged 17.8 points per game over the course of 6 games. Brown’s squad, Team Holder, lost in the semifinals to the eventual Platinum Champion. College coaches should see Nate Brown Nate Brown 6'3" | CG Davison | 2021 State MI ASAP.
