The wings also played well during the two sessions as they showed their ability to impact the game in multiple ways. Here are the top wings from the NJ Panthers U15/U16 practices.
Philip Urban Philip Urban 6'6" | SF Pennington | 2022 State NJ , 6’6 SF Pennington 2022
Urban was arguably the most dominant player of the day as he showed his ability to score at all three levels. The 6’6 forward attacked the basket hard all session and was unafraid of absorbing contact on his way to the basket. Urban was making it rain from deep as he was able to step into his shot and knock down contested jumpers. He showcased a good handle and fought for rebounds. Urban’s strong performance throughout the practice is a good sign for the NJ Panthers U16 team.
Brian Whitney, 6’3 SG/SF Passiac Valley 2022
Whitney may be more of a shooting guard at the next level, but he played well throughout the 2022 session. The 6’3 lefty has a nice release on his shot and showed his ability to make contested jumpers in the shooting drills. Whitney attacked the basket strong in the layup drills and was able to make layups through contact with his off hand. He played solid defense during the games and made good decisions with the ball. Whitney’s shooting makes him a nice option on the wing for the U16 NJ Panthers.
Jackson Bleeker, 6’3 SG/SF Seton Hall Prep 2023
Bleeker had a solid all-around game as he proved that he could make an impact for the U15 team. The 6’3 wing was able to get to his spot on the floor on offense and played with composure. Bleeker has a smooth looking stroke on his jump shot and knocked down jumpers over defenders in the shooting drills. He has a good handle and knows how to play in the flow of an offense. Bleeker is a talented wing prospect who is ready to explode on the scene with the NJ Panthers U15 squad.
Khalid Brown, 6’2 SG/SF St. Joe’s Metuchen 2023
Brown was impressive throughout the day as his smooth game was on full display. The 6’2 wing never seems to rush when the ball is in hands and makes good decisions. Brown has a good handle and knows how to beat his defender off the bounce. He has a nice looking jumper and made several shots over the top of his defender. Brown’s ability to impact the game in multiple ways makes him a solid player for the NJ Panthers U15 team.
Ryan Pettit Ryan Pettit 6'2" | SG Rutgers Prep | 2022 State NJ , 6’2 SG Rutgers Prep 2022
Petit will be a shooting guard at the next level, but his play throughout the session deserves to be mentioned. The 6’2 lefty has a nice release on his jumper and shoots the ball with confidence. Petit has a good handle and knows how to attack the basket strong. He has a good handle and is capable of running the offense as well. Petit is a gamer who should have a big season for the NJ Panthers U16 squad.
