We will be breaking down each conference starting with the Class of 2021 first to show college coaches who they need to be placing a value on heading into the year.
We will continue to go through each conference to try and hit as many players as possible with the hopes of helping these seniors-to-be catch the attention of prospective college coaches.
Jayden Houston Jayden Houston 6'3" | SF Davenport North | 2021 State IA – Davenport North
Davenport North pushed Ankeny Centennial to the limits in the Class 4A state tournament last year after upsetting Dubuque Senior in the substate final.
The expectations will be very high for the Wildcats this coming winter as leading scorer Jayden Houston Jayden Houston 6'3" | SF Davenport North | 2021 State IA returns. Houston scored 17.5 points per game last year on almost 57 percent shooting from the field.
Along with his 437 points, Houston also produced 138 rebounds, 57 assists, 45 steals and nine blocked shots, sinking 14 three-pointers and 60 percent of his free throws.
Houston has received some college interest including from Wayne State College.
Emarion Ellis Emarion Ellis 6'4" | SF Assumption | 2021 State #141 Nation IA – Davenport Central
People know about Emarion Ellis Emarion Ellis 6'4" | SF Assumption | 2021 State #141 Nation IA from Davenport Central, especially after he produced nearly 18 points and eight rebounds a night last year.
He finished with 391 points, 172 rebounds, 54 assists, 50 steals and 33 blocks, shooting over 48 percent from the field. Ellis also sank 23 three-pointers and converted 62.5 percent of his 128 free throws.
Ellis picked up offers from Louisiana Tech and UW-Milwaukee recently along with Bryant. He also has an interest on the football field from colleges.
Jacob Townsend Jacob Townsend 6'4" | SF Pleasant Valley | 2021 State IA – Pleasant Valley
Last year, Pleasant Valley’s Jacob Townsend Jacob Townsend 6'4" | SF Pleasant Valley | 2021 State IA led the Spartans in both scoring and rebounding with 288 and 120 total.
Townsend averaged 12 and five per game, shooting over 46 percent from the field and nearly 73 percent at the free throw line.
Along with his scoring and board work, Townsend also contributed 58 assists and 23 steals in 24 games.
Josh Dieckman Josh Dieckman 6'6" | PF Muscatine | 2021 State IA – Muscatine
With classmate Noah Yahn Noah Yahn 6'2" | SF Muscatine | 2021 State IA , Josh Dieckman Josh Dieckman 6'6" | PF Muscatine | 2021 State IA forms a formidable Class of 2021 duo for Muscatine.
Dieckman finished last season with 259 points and a team-high 139 rebounds, shooting almost 47 percent from the floor. He knocked down 17 three-pointers and added 31 assists, 23 blocks and 16 steals for the Muskies.
Quincy Wiseman Quincy Wiseman 6'3" | SF Davernport North | 2021 State IA – Davenport North
Another key piece back in the fold for Davenport North is Class of 2021’s Quincy Wiseman Quincy Wiseman 6'3" | SF Davernport North | 2021 State IA .
Wiseman scored 350 points on 51 percent shooting, making a team-high 38 three-pointers. He also had 100 rebounds, led the Wildcats with 78 assists, recorded 30 steals and even blocked 15 shots.
With Houston, Wiseman and a handful of others back, Davenport North should be a state tournament contender once again.
