Daniel Brocaille Daniel Brocaille 6'4" | SF Papio South | 2022 State NE of Team Factory (SF, 2022). Love the way this 6-foot-5 wing competed on both ends of the floor. Love his fight to the ball followed by his quick movements to the next spot on defense. Saw him rebound 11 times in 20 minutes played fighting and reacting to the carmon plus he scored a dozen points with most scores being touch shots from 15 feet and in. Type of touch that looks like it would be good out to the arc.
Chase Carter Chase Carter 6'7" | PF Minnehaha Academy | 2022 MN of Grassroots Sizzle (PF, 2022). Chase looked like a more agile player this weekend as he has reshaped his body and looks more mobile at now 6-foot-7. Carter was the most consistent rebounder I watched on Monday grabbing eight or nine in each contest and he was really aggressive working to score the ball averaging a dozen points a contest.
Cole Glasgow Cole Glasgow 6'2" | SG Dallas Center- Grimes | 2022 State IA of All Iowa Attack (SG, 2022). Why are we talking about Cole again? Because I am not satisfied with what I’ve had to say about Cole. I don’t think I have made myself clear. After watching Cole play live and then looking into his game tape, it’s time that all Midwest schools call. All of them. Not just lows and mids, if you are a high major you would be smart to call too. The stroke is that good, the agility is that good, the ability to score contested shots has me baffled, Cole is that good. There is some Matt Thomas there mixed with AJ Green. Cole Glasgow Cole Glasgow 6'2" | SG Dallas Center- Grimes | 2022 State IA is going to be that good.
Will Kyle of Team Factory (SG, 2022). Will Kyle, let them know that you can play! Kyle put forth a 15 point, nine board effort against one of the better 16u teams in all of the Midwest. If Will Kyle can score 15 points on eight shot attempts plus grab nine boards against the Sizzle, he can go out the rest of this summer and have a consistent performance against lesser teams every night.
Jaden Norby Jaden Norby 6'5" | SF Ashby | 2021 State MN of Ashby (PF, 2021). Jaden Norby Jaden Norby 6'5" | SF Ashby | 2021 State MN made a massive jump from his sophomore year to his junior adding 10-11 points a game to his average and doing everything on the court well. After hearing that, it was not a surprise when we watched Jaden move the ball out of the post for five assists and chased down seven boards. Norby has added a load of strength, he’s two inches bigger than when I saw him making jumpers as a 6-foot-2 wing the year before, but that 235 pounds on his body was moving bigger players as well.
Livon Ramsey Livon Ramsey 6'4" | SF Lincoln High | 2021 State NE of Team Factory (PF, 2021). Ramsey played for a high school basketball team this winter that struggled. There isn’t another way to say it, they struggled. Because of that I think Livon is a bit of an unknown, or at least it seems like it from what I have heard. But last weekend we watched Ramsey play two solid teams and in this games he made 12 of 17 shot attempts total, scored a dozen points in each game, and not only finish around the basket in an agile way, but the forward made a couple jumpers as well. I see he is listed at 6-foot-3 but Ramsey looks like he has outgrown that height .
Donovan Smith Donovan Smith 5'10" | PG Minnehaha Academy | 2022 OH of Grassroots Sizzle (Guard, 2022). The biggest thing I want you to take from this is Donovan Smith Donovan Smith 5'10" | PG Minnehaha Academy | 2022 OH is so much more than a shooter. Everybody knows of Smith as a shooter because he is that double figure scorer that can make four threes on average. That said, this weekend I earned a bigger appreciation for other things Smith does. Smith’s first step is quicker than I thought, defensively I really like how he moved his feet pressuring the basketball, his transition push was so quick, and he handled some (when Dodd wasn’t) and I liked the way Smith ran the offense. Had some really nice attack finishes scoring his 45 points in three games. And of course he made ten threes in those three games.
