There were college coaches all around and many more confirmed to be livestreaming. A couple of teams from Michigan traveled to Indiana to play at Havoc In The Heartland. The Macomb Cougars 17u and The Process 15u both had solid first days.
The Macomb Cougars started with a game against Midwest Basketball Club Gold. They fell in a tough, physical, and competitive game by a score of 61-50. Charles Riley (2021, 6-4, Wing, L’Anse Creuse North) led the way with 12 points. Rory Montreuil Rory Montreuil 6'7" | PF Utica | 2021 State MI (2021, 6-7, Wing, L’Anse Creuse North) and Jermari Mack Jermari Mack 6'3" | SF L'Anse Creuse North | 2021 State MI (2021, 6-3, Wing, L’Anse Creuse North) both chipped in with 11.

Christian Johnson Christian Johnson 6'1" | PG L'anse Creuse North | 2021 State MI (2021, 6-1, CG, L’Anse Creuse North) played the hero with a last second bucket to grab the win. Charles Riley again led the way with 20 points. Johnson finished with 16 while Montreuil added 15.
The Macomb Cougars have some next level talent at every position on the roster. It will ve fun to see them perform in day 2.
The Process 15u was absolutely stellar on Saturday. They not only won, but did so in convincing fashion against tough competition. They first squared off against Joliet Loyalty, who was coming off an undefeated weekend last week. The Process dominated from the opening tip, playing like a well oiled machine even in these crazy times.
They then played against Colorado Mayhem, who some believed could be a premier team at the event. The Process got off to a slow start and battled an early deficit. In the 2nd half, they put it together and ran away from Colorado Mayhem. The Process finished with a 52-37 victory.
College coaches will want to keep an eye on The Process’ roster over the coming years, as every one of their players showed skills, discipline, and a high basketball IQ.
