Gregory Burrell Gregory Burrell 6'0" | SG Desert Pines | 2024 State NV 5’10 SG SOS Ravens (#11PHN 2024) – Burrell hit a halfcourt, game winning buzzer beating shot, so there’s that. He also played with his usual relentless motor. He gave as good as he received as he seeked out contact while punishing defenders on every drive to the rim.
Dontrell Johnson Dontrell Johnson 6'5" | SF Trinity | 2022 State NV 6’5 PF LV Aces 2022 (#11PHN 2022) – It only takes one or two possessions to witness Johnson’s motor. The 6’5 positional question mark, sprints the floor like a deer, and never takes a possession off. A consistent high energy performer, Johnson was a nightmare for opponents, attacking like a locomotive when playing downhill in transition.
Jacques Williams Jr Jacques Williams Jr 5'9" | PG Arbor View | 2022 NV 5’10 Hard 2 Guard 2022 (#46PHN 2022) (featured image) – Williams can make my all floor burn team any day. A relentless on ball defender, he harassed, deflected and kept balls alive all week. Offensively he made hard drives to the rim absorbing and finishing through contact.
Eddie Armstrong 6’0 SF Hustlers 2021 – Baby Gerald Wallace AKA “Crash Junior” played with the same type of energy and motor that the former Alabama star played with. He grabbed tough in traffic rebounds, kept balls alive and sacrificed his body for his team.
Midate Mou Midate Mou 6'1" | SG Trinity | 2021 State NV 6’1 SG Simply Fundamental 2021 – Mou was relentless on ball. He used his length to harass ballandlers and refused to give up if someone was fortunate to get by him. Despite his slight frame, he competed for in traffic rebounds and made several strong drives to the rim.
Dom Muncey 6’0 SG Team Rouge 2021 – If you follow Prep Hoops Nevada, then you know I’m a huge fan of Max Heinz Max Heinz 6'1" | SG Faith Lutheran | 2021 State NV from Faith Lutheran. So I’m sure you can imagine my enjoyment watching Heinz, and Muncey play together this weekend. Like Heinz, Muncey was an irritant when defending on ball, sacrificed his body for his team and was great in his help defense situations.
Brian Townson 6’2 PF LV Panthers 2025 – Townson was a physical beast, that went out looking for contact. It’s one thing to be physical on defense, however “Chef” used his frame to be a physical presence on the offensive end as well. Looked as if he didn’t enjoy scoring unless he banged into 1 or 2 players on his way to the bucket.
Ira Mayweather 6’4 SF LV Aces 2022 – Mayweather never took a play off. He defended, got on the floor and was extremely comfortable both dishing and receiving contact.
