It also featured several relentless rebounders, and while it’s one thing to grab a basketball that comes right to you, it’s another to go get it. In this article PH takes a look at the top out of area rebounders at the event.
Tavionte Jackson Tavionte Jackson 6'1" | PG Las Vegas | 2022 NV 6’1 PG Hard 2 Guard 2022 (#5PHN 2022) – Jackson did just about everything for H2G this weekend. That included coming down from his guard position to scrap for boards. He has good lateral leaping ability, and long arms which allowed him to grab rebounds from all angles.
Gregory Burrell Gregory Burrell 6'0" | SG Desert Pines | 2024 State NV 5’11 SG SOS 2024 (#11PHN 2024) – Burrell plays so hard that everything he does is out of area. The physical specimen came crashing down from the top of the key, the baseline and every other area of the floor, securing the pumpkin with his quick first and second jumps.
Zamir Hays 6’5 C Legacy Elite 2021– Hays is all arms and legs. He also was effort and energy. The gangly center moved his feet well, shagging balls coming of all sides of the rim. He did a good job of making contact, boxing out and then attacking the ball.
Lorenzo Moore Lorenzo Moore 6'5" | PF Canyon Springs | 2022 State NV 6’4 PF Hard 2 Guard (#22PHN 2022) – Moore is one of those guys that just goes and get it. He used his quick second jump to keep the ball alive and then retrieve it. Moore doesn’t have tremendous R&J ability, but what he does have is a huge heart and the will to chase down the pumpkin. Moore provided H2G with several second chance opportunities throughout the weekend.
Dontrell Johnson Dontrell Johnson 6'5" | SF Trinity | 2022 State NV 6’5 PF LV Aces 2022 (#11PHN 2022) – Johnson is a big time competitor, who may be the fastest 4 man in the state. He also may be the most agile. Johnson used his explosive leaping ability to go over smaller players, and his quickness to go around bigger ones.
Key’trin Harris 6’2 PF Vegas Heat 2025 – Harris probably would have made my high motor list if I saw more of him. What I did see was a hard hat player that did an excellent job of chasing down long rebounds.
Chris Boudreau 6’6 C The Program 2025 – Bodreau wasn’t the best athlete at the event, but with his size and length he was easily able grab boards from all angles. He did a good job of keeping the ball alive by tipping it to himself and then retrieving.
