Jersey Force had its first workout on the outdoor courts in Westfield with the U15, U16 and two of its U17 teams playing. The U15 and U16 teams practiced first with a couple of players having strong performances throughout the workout. Here are the top stockrisers from the Jersey Force U15/U16 workout.
Ryan Curry Ryan Curry 6'0" | PG Montgomery | 2022 State NJ , 6’0 PG Montgomery 2022
Curry had a tremendous performance throughout the workout, establishing himself as one of the top point guards on the U16 team. The 6’0 guard showcased his tight handle and had several nice finishes around the basket. Curry played with poise when the ball was in his hands and showed off his nice shooting touch. He played with good instincts on the defensive end and was hard to keep in front of in the open floor. Curry is a talented point guard who is on the verge of bursting onto the scene.
Jayden Holmes Cotter, 6’5 PF Freehold Township 2023
Holmes Cotter may have raised his stock the most during this workout after showcasing his all-around offensive game. The burly 6’5 forward bullied his opponents down low to create space and showed off a nice touch around the rim. Holmes Cotter also showcased his perimeter game as he knocked down several mid-range jumpers. He was a presence around the rim as he blocked numerous shots and hustled for rebounds on both ends. Holmes Cotter is a strong presence down low for the U15 squad and will be someone to watch in the Shore Conference for the next few seasons.
Justin Sorrano, 6’6 SF/PF Central Regional 2022
Sorrano was dominant all workout long as he showed off his ability to play inside and out. The 6’6 forward dunked almost everything around the basket including one off the backboard to end the session. Sorrano showed off a nice handle and was able to create shots for himself off the dribble. He did not just score around the basket as he knocked down several perimeter jumpers. Sorrano’s combination of perimeter skill, athleticism and toughness makes him a tough matchup for Jersey Force ‘s U16 opponents.
Jack Seidler Jack Seidler 6'5" | SF Marlboro | 2022 State NJ , 6’5 SF Marlboro 2022
Seidler had a strong workout as he showed off his ability to play on the perimeter. The 6’5 forward went through the ball-handling drills with few hitches and finished almost everything around the basket. Seidler also showed off his ability to shoot off the dribble as he has a nice shooting stroke. He pushed the ball well in transition and rebounded the ball well down low. Seidler is a skilled wing prospect who creates a deadly tandem with Sorrano for the U16 team.
Dwight Matthews, 6’4 SG/SF Shawnee 2022
Matthews finished the workout on a high note as he performed strong in the scrimmages. The 6’4 wing was hot from behind the arc as he has a quick release to go along with a good shooting stroke. Matthews played well in the flow of the offense as he made smart decisions and showed an ability to create space for himself off the ball. He is more than just a shooter as he had a good showing in the ball-handling drills. Matthews is a skilled wing player who should help Curry in the backcourt of the U16 team.
