The COVID-19 pandemic has made it hard for post players to impress on the AAU circuit, but they are still finding ways to get recognition. The Jersey Force had a set of scrimmages over the weekend, which was filled with a lot of talent. Here are the top post players from the Jersey Force scrimmages.
Dominick Barlow Dominick Barlow 6'7" | SF Dumont | 2022 NLG , 6’8 Dumont 2021
Barlow was an absolute force on both ends of the floor as he validated why Quinnipiac and Siena offered him in the last week. The athletic forward attacked the basket hard and drew contact on almost every drive. Barlow showed off his ability to play on the perimeter and also ran the floor hard. He used his combination of length and athleticism to swat shots around the basket. Barlow is a talented forward who should have a big summer season for the Jersey Force Elite squad.
Matt Delaney, 6’7 St. Augustine 2021
Delaney is a classic stretch four and he proved that at the Jersey Force scrimmages. The 6’7 forward used his strong frame to get good position down low and finish shots in traffic. Delaney showed off good footwork down low and ripped down rebounds throughout the day. He has a nice release on his shot and stepped outside to knock down a shot from behind the arc. Delaney is a versatile forward who is looking to be the go-to post guy for Olympus this summer.
Miles Whye Miles Whye 6'7" | PF St. Joe's Metuchen | 2021 State NJ , 6’7 St. Joe’s Metuchen 2021
Whye had a big showing at the Jersey Force scrimmages and is a huge breakout candidate in the GMC. The 6’7 forward knocked down a three-pointer early in the first game and shoots the ball with confidence. Whye has a nice touch around the basket and works hard on both ends of the floor. He ripped down rebounds and used his length to block shots. Whye is a raw forward, but his combination of skill and motor makes him a good post option for the Jersey Force Select team.
Antoine Arnett Antoine Arnett 6'5" | SF Peddie | 2022 State NJ , 6’5 Sterling 2021
Arnett may only stand 6’5, but that did not stop him from having a strong performance at the Jersey Force scrimmages. The athletic forward finished almost everything around the basket and showed off great body control with a couple of double pump layups around the rim. Arnett moved well off the ball and made good decisions with the ball in his hands. He skied for rebounds on both ends of the floor and played solid post defense. Arnett may not be the biggest forward, but his combination of athleticism, motor and talent makes him a good compliment to Delaney for Olympus.
Joe Carroll Joe Carroll 6'7" | SF Blair Academy | 2022 State NJ , 6’7 Don Bosco Prep 2021
Carroll may be more of a combo forward, but he proved his ability to play down low at the Jersey Force scrimmages. The 6’7 forward moves exceptionally well without the ball and knows how to get position down low. Carroll can handle the ball on the perimeter, but he showed at the scrimmages an ability to finish down low. He is a good post defender and is an underrated passer. Carroll is a skilled forward prospect who should have a big summer for the Jersey Force Elite squad.
