Andrew Chisley Andrew Chisley 6'6" | PF Hopkins | 2021 State MN (6’6 2021 F, MN Select Ohnstad 17u)- A strong, big bodied forward who loves to get physical in the paint, Andrew Chisley Andrew Chisley 6'6" | PF Hopkins | 2021 State MN was scoring at will around the rim. He impressed with his ability to establish solid position on the block, and was able to turn and score using some simple post moves. Andrew competed on the offensive glass as well which allowed him to score a lot of second chance points for his teams. He also proved capable of getting to the rim off the dribble from the wing, and had no problem powering through contact to finish.
Ryan Dufault Ryan Dufault 5'11" | PG Waseca | 2021 State MN (6’ 2021 PG, MN Heat Tauer 17u)- It continues to be known that Ryan Dufault Ryan Dufault 5'11" | PG Waseca | 2021 State MN ’s left hand is one of the most dangerous weapons on a basketball court. When he turns the corner and extends to finish with the left, odds are the shot is going in. But it’s not just his left hand. Ryan attacks most often with the left, but he also looked comfortable finishing with his off hand at a consistent rate. Dufault is an extremely quick player who can turn the corner in a hurry, and makes the most of his looks once he gets to the rim.
Jalen Cain Jalen Cain 6'3" | SF Minnetonka | 2023 State MN (6’2 2023 G, D1 Minnesota 15u)- Jalen Cain Jalen Cain 6'3" | SF Minnetonka | 2023 State MN was a top performer for D1 Minnesota’s 15u team this past weekend, and it was because of his ability to get to the rim and finish in a variety of ways. Jalen was in attack mode, looking to get to the rim off the dribble, and was hustling up the floor in transition to get some easy looks around the rim. Once he got to the rim he proved capable of contorting his body for some creative finishes, or going up strong through contact to complete.
Alex Jones Alex Jones 6'1" | SG Minnetonka | 2023 State MN (6’1 2023 G, Howard Pulley 15u)- Another 2023 standout from the weekend, Alex Jones Alex Jones 6'1" | SG Minnetonka | 2023 State MN is simply too physically advanced for most players at the 15u level to handle. He’s quick, strong, and explosive, making him so hard for opposing guards to defend once he gets around the rim. Jones impressed as a playmaker with the ball in his hands, and the threat of him getting to the rim to score opened up space to find his teammates. Alex also did a good job of cutting hard off the ball to get some looks around the rim, and he completed at a high rate.
Eli King Eli King 6'2" | PG Caledonia | 2022 State #151 Nation MN (6’3 2022 G, D1 Minnesota 17u)- There’s not much to say about Eli King Eli King 6'2" | PG Caledonia | 2022 State #151 Nation MN that hasn’t already been said. He’s an athletic freak of nature who can absolutely fly while also possessing incredible body control that allows him to get squared up in mid-air to finish off some difficult looks at the rim. Both in transition and in the half court Eli was throwing down powerful dunks all day long, and was also having no problem fighting through some contact to score around the rim. One of the state’s best all-around prospects.
Jace Bigelow Jace Bigelow 6'4" | SG Kasson-Mantorville | 2021 State MN (6’3 2021 G, MN Select Robinson 17u)- Jace Bigelow Jace Bigelow 6'4" | SG Kasson-Mantorville | 2021 State MN was having no problem slashing through the defense to get to the rim, and he was finishing at a high rate all weekend long. He possesses great length for a guard with a quick first step to get by his man and put him on his hip. Once around the rim Jace could hang in the air to evade shot blocks, go through contact, and put up a high arcing floater with his soft touch. If the ball wasn’t dropping through the hoop, Jace was likely heading to the free throw line.
Malcolm Jones Malcolm Jones 6'9" | C Prior Lake | 2022 State MN (6’8 2022 F/C, D1 Minnesota 16u)- There’s nothing flashy about Malcolm’s game, but he consistently produces. Against All Iowa Attack, Malcolm did a great job of using his strong frame to get into good position around the rim, and he excels at gaining balance before going up to complete. Malcolm has a soft touch around the rim, and even when he misses, his work ethic is so high that there’s a good chance he’ll grab his own rebound and go right back up. One of the top 2022 big men in the state.
