Cam Anderson of Minnesota Rise (6’2, Blue Earth, SG, 2021). Anderson is a two time all Big South player that got a chance to play on a bigger stage against some known names and he had a strong weekend scoring in double figure a couple times for the Rise averaging nearly in double figures for the weekend. Anderson is a leader as we saw this March in the playoffs, a skilled combo guard that scored 16 a game this past winter shooting an impressive 48 percent from the floor and 37 percent from the arc.
Jordan Boltz of Minnesota Lockdown (6’4, Maple Grove, SF, 2021). Boltz had a brilliant shooting weekend leading the Lockdown to the event championship. He knocked out 15 points in the final game after giving his team double figures in all the Saturday contests. Jordan played JV at Maple Grove last year but looks to have a stroke his team could use this winter. His a dozen threes for the weekend and led the team in scoring outright
Mohamed Hammadelniel Mohamed Hammadelniel 5'11" | PG Rochester Mayo | 2021 MN of D1 Minnesota Prospects (6’2, Rochester Mayo, Guard, 2021). The guy that really grabbed my attention the most this weekend was Mohamed Hammadelniel Mohamed Hammadelniel 5'11" | PG Rochester Mayo | 2021 MN . Keep in mind he has grown three inches in the past year plus added a lot of strength. Along with it has come a separation skill to get to his shot that I was not aware he had. Mohamed’s quickness to get into his attempt or to attack the second level of the defense had a lot of people asking about him all weekend. If he continues to play in this way we are talking about a guy that could have a big scoring season for the Spartans. Something to keep a close eye on.
Tarik Iyob of Minnesota Lockdown (6’3, DeLaSalle, SG, 2021). The Saturday catalyst for the Lockdown was Tarik Iyob. He jumped out of the gate with a 20 point performance followed by another dozen. Iyob was a reliant scorer all weekend plus his defensive energy at times created turnovers.
Majok Majouk Majok Majouk 6'7" | SF Sergeant-Bluff Luton | 2021 State IA of South Dakota Attack (6’7, Sergeant-Bluff, PF, 2021). Majok is long and he strides up and down the floor win a way that coaches would love to work with. When he learns to position that length defensively he will a menace to opposing teams. Majok already rebounds well quickly getting off his feet to extend for the ball, next up he needs to learn to use that length to deflect and annoy on defense. Has a decent shot, showed this winter he can give a team a three once every three attempts and finished this winter at a 50 percent rate.
Adam Mattes Adam Mattes 6'3" | SG Newton | 2022 State IA of All Iowa Attack (6’3, Newton, SG, 2022). To some in Iowa this is not a new name but outside the state the name Adam Mattes Adam Mattes 6'3" | SG Newton | 2022 State IA was new as he impressed in multiple games. Adam’s aggressive attack patiently waiting for the defenders to shift and then capitalizing with the aggressive approach led him to double figures in both games we looked in on. Add in that he scored 15 a game as a frosh and we think he’s a player to watch closely going forward.
