This year was no different and I was able to evaluate some good talent from different states. In this article I will take a look at five standouts from the DMV.
2023 6’0 Logan Rhoades Logan Rhoades 6'2" | CG Mills Godwin | 2023 State VA | Mills Godwin
The son of VCU coach Mike Rhoades was a standout throughout the entire weekend in Spooky Nook. Logan was by far one of the best shooters at the camp and he was not afraid to show it. He also has some good playmaking skills and is not afraid to go into attack mode when he wants to. He has Looks for Rhoades to really start getting talked about more in the coming years ahead.
2023 6’4 Jeannot Basima Jeannot Basima 6'3" | CG John Carroll | 2023 State #200 Nation MD | John Carroll
Basima definitely helped his stock this past weekend and he got it going as soon as the camp started. When the camp first started he was killing everybody in drills and I knew he had a big weekend ahead of him. He drives to the rim with force and is always in constant attack mode. Once he gets his jumper consistent, it is going to take his game to another level. Basima earned MVP honors during the camp All Star Game.
2023 6’2 Camerin Horton | St. Frances Academy
It seems like Camerin is a new addition to the historic St. Frances Academy program so it will be interesting to see where he falls in like this season with them. Horton is an athletic guard that definitely looks the part while he is on the court. The most impressive thing was his handle and certainly seems like a player that excels with the ball in his hands. Horton is a player that looks to have a bright future ahead of him.
2023 6’10 Logan McEldon | Highland
Luke looked like a giant on the court compared to everyone else. Standing at 6’10, he has a lot of upside because of his size. With an already nice set of skills in the low post, look for Luke to gain more and more traction because of his physical presence on the court.
2023 6’6 Quin Gorman | Bishop O’Connell
Statistically Quinn did not have the best camp but his hustle is something that has to be noted. Gorman was one of the hardest playing prospects during the camp and his size definitely played a factor in his team rebounding the ball and he was always there defensively and constantly engaged in the action. It will be interesting to see how he develops during his time at O’Connell.
