Team Nebraska Express, Lincoln Supreme, and Omaha Sports Academy all brought great guard talent to compete. These are six instate incoming freshman guards that played well Friday at the #HardWorkSzn Classic.
Neal Mosser
Mosser outmatched his opponents in the OSA Crusaders first game and dominated on both end of the floor. He has great vision in the open court and creativity as a passer. He hit streaking teammates and threw on target bounce, one handed, and behind the back passes. Mosser assisted or created countless baskets for OSA. He also finished fast break layups and worked off screens to hit corner threes. He continued this momentum into game two, where he was able to score inside and outside.
CJ Mitchell CJ Mitchell 5'10" | PG Omaha Westside | 2024 State NE
Mitchell is a playmaking guard that brings energy on both ends of the floor. He forced numerous turnovers in their first game of the night with ball pressure and by ripping ball handlers. He quickly gets the ball up the court after a make or forced turnover. Mitchell scored in transition and buried spot up threes from the top of the key and the corners.
Taye Moore
Moore is a shifty ball handler a slithery finisher. He is a little undersized, but does a good job avoiding shot blockers and contact at the rim. He managed the offense and pressured ball handler defensively. While trailing in their second game of the day, Moore dribbled into a much needed three pointer to cut Lincoln Supreme’s deficit to 8 points with just over a minute left.
Marquis Tolliver
Tolliver is an athletic point guard that impressed with his pace and vision in the TNE’s first game of the night. He has a lightening quick first step, got into the paint at will, and assisted on countless three point shots on drive and dish passes. He showed his soft touch in both games with one dribble pull up jumpers. Tolliver is a skilled distributor and quick decision maker.
Camden Monie
Monie is a do it all shooting guard and glue guy for the OSA Crusaders. He is an unselfish player offensively that has touch and can score from all three levels. He gives effort defensively and rebounds well for his guard position.
Caleb Benning Caleb Benning 5'10" | CG Omaha Westside | 2024 State NE
Bennings is scrappy three and D player that competes and plays with energy on both ends. He doesn’t force anything offensively and finds space for himself to shoot or attack with straight line drives. Bennings has great instinct defensively and can cover a lot of ground quickly to jump passing lanes or closeout on shooters.
