In our Film Room Series we examine prospects from specific teams out of the state of Illinois by watching game tape from the event. Today is our #HardWorkSZN Kickoff: Illinois Hoopstars Willis 17U Film Room!
Rickey Woods Rickey Woods 6'5" | SG Bloomington | 2021 IL (Bloomington – 2021)
Woods is a 6’5” two guard that is making the move over from Washington to Bloomington for his senior year. The central Illinois wing played with a ton of aggressiveness in this game. He consistently got to the rim over and over again. Burst with the ball in his hands. Tons of points in transition. Good defender that pressures the ball and gets in passing lanes in the full court press. Rebounds well for a guard and plays with a high motor!
AJ Storr AJ Storr 6'3" | SG Kankakee | 2021 IL (Kankakee – 2021)
The Kankakee 6’6” wing was really good in this contest. The long armed wing has a projectable frame. He drilled several threes. Powerful slasher including one extremely impressive dunk where he got downhill and rose up above his defender to posterize him. Also was effective using his quickness on the offensive glass. Quality wing defender that recovered to block a shot.
Corey Walker Corey Walker 6'7" | C Normal West | 2021 State IL (Normal Community – 2021)
Walker is headed to Illinois State for football, but if he were to play hoops in college would be a D2 prospect with some upside. The 6’8” five man has a wide body and a high activity level. Finishes well through contact. Combined quality footwork, power, and spin moves on the block. Very good area rebounder.
Nick Spannaus (Decatur MacArthur – 2021)
Spannaus continues to see his stock rise! The 6’7” forward brings versatility on both ends. Extremely athletic around the hoop and quick to the offensive glass. He also connected on three different triples. Smooth release with a feathery touch from deep. Also threw down a nice alley-oop. Tons of upside here!
Jermale Young (Urbana – 2021)
This Urbana 6’1” point guard is a long and thin guard that was active on the defensive end at the point of attack. Also flashed a burst with the ball in his hands.
Mac Parmelee Mac Parmelee 6'4" | SG Dunlap | 2021 State IL (Dunlap – 2021)
Parmelee is a 6’4” wing that has quality size on the perimeter. Sound shooting stroke including knocking one down and getting fouled on another. Also got loose for a transition score.
