Adam Beasley (Illinois Hoopstars 15U)
Beasley was dynamic all weekend for the Illinois Hoopstars. The Bloomington High School product is a 5’11” point guard that has speed to burn and the ball on a string! He is a shifty floor general that jukes and jives through the defense. Loves utilizing a floater in the lane. Plays with tremendous speed accelerating through holes in the defense where he converts acrobatic layups. At times he can go a little too fast and turn it over, but he has plenty of time to work on that. Pesky on ball defender that has active hands creating turnovers.
Germane Springfield (Illinois Hoopstars 15U)
Springfield is a strong bodied 6’4” combo forward. He plays with a lot of physicality. Very good rebounder that crashes the glass on both ends. The broad shouldered forward finishes well through contact and is a very good defender. Can guard multiple spots. Ultimate upside will depend on how much he grows and how his overall perimeter skill improves. Reminds us a bit of a young RJ Ogom RJ Ogom 6'6" | PF Homewood Flossmoor | 2020 State IL who is headed to College of Charleston. Springfield attends Champaign Centennial High School.
Jayden Martin (Illinois T-Wolves 15U)
Just what Joliet West needs is another young guard with college potential! Martin was outstanding for the Illinois T-Wolves. The 6’2” guard brought toughness to the table along with scoring pop. He was a three level scorer hitting threes, mid-range shots, and got to the cup for floaters. Martin was able to make passes on the move which were impressive for such a young prospect. Also got after it on the defensive end.
Miles Rubin (Chicago Lockdown 15U)
Miles and his twin brother Wesley emerged over the weekend. The 6’7” power forward from Homewood Flossmoor competed against one of the more physically developed 2023 posts out there in Gus Yalden who already has multiple high-major offers. Rubin didn’t back down! He has a long and lanky frame with a ton of long term projectability. Rim protector that swatted several shots against the nationally ranked post. The next day without his brother on the floor due to injury we saw more of his offensive game. Quick moves in the paint and stretched the floor hitting a corner three along with a mid-range jumper. For a player that wasn’t even on the sophomore team last year according to his travel team coach this was a statement opening weekend!
