Mario Adams (6’4 2023 F, MN Select Koch)- Mario Adams left a lasting impression on me with his mixture of length, mobility, and finishing touch around the rim. A long and agile forward who looked capable of playing on the block or stepping out as a wing, Mario has impressive physical tools. He had multiple dunks using his quick leap and long arms to get up above the rim with ease, and he showed touch stepping out beyond the arc and knocking down the outside jumper. A name to know from Eastview HS.
Dylan Omweno (6’ 2023 G, MN Select Koch)- Another Select standout, Dylan Omweno went head to head with one of the top 2024 prospects in the country during Select’s final game, putting up big scoring numbers in the process. Dylan is a capable scorer at all three levels, comfortable knocking down shots off the catch or bounce. His threat of scoring from outside opened up attacking lanes for him to get to the basket, where he was able to glide to the hoop and finish with ease. Dylan attends Apple Valley HS.
Khalif Bettis Khalif Bettis 6'6" | SF Burnsville | 2023 State MN (6’3 2023 W, MN Chill Elite)- A varsity performer over the winter, the long framed Khalif Bettis Khalif Bettis 6'6" | SF Burnsville | 2023 State MN was putting the ball in the hoop all weekend long for Chill. He excelled at finding ways to get to the basket, whether off the dribble, off-ball cuts, or posting up smaller guards. Khalif finished at a high percentage around the rim, and that touch is a big reason why the Burnsville product is a top-25 ranked 2023.
Owen Carlson (6’ 2023 G, MN Crossfire – Brown)- The Mahtomedi guard had some rough stretches shooting the ball, but showed a lot of promise as a shot creator. He possesses a nice handle and understands how to change pace and direction in order to create space for a shot. As he improves his passing vision, that handle will also allow him to be a dangerous playmaker to set his teammates up to score.
Molley Komara (6’4 2023 F, MN Chill Elite)- Molley is as long as they come at 6’4, but has impressive mobility allowing him to run the floor in transition and pick up easy finishes around the rim. His frame as intriguing as it looks like there’s still room to grow, meaning we could see him project as either a wing or a forward down the road. Komara showcased a soft touch around the rim with decent post footwork, and his long arms allowed him to block or contest most shots in the paint. Molley goes to Park Center.
Myles Adams (6’4 2023 F, MN Select Koch)- Like his twin brother Mario, there’s a lot to like about Myles’ lanky and athletic frame. He’s a hard working player capable of guarding just about every spot on the floor. Offensively he can score from inside or out, and showcased some solid passing vision distributing to cutters. He’s another strong prospect on the rise at Eastview.
Ariyon Reuben (6’2 2023 G, MN Chill Elite)- The Park Center guard looked like a prospect who could develop into a dangerous scorer down the road. He looks even longer than his 6’2 height would suggest, allowing him to defend multiple spots on the defensive end. Offensively he showed the capability to create his own shot off the dribble, including an impressive combo move from the wing leading to a deep three point make. As he continues to fine-tune his game and increase his athleticism, he’s a guard to watch in the 2023 class.
