Kamryn Thomas (Team RWA)
Thomas is going to make a nice debut in our next rankings after we got our first extensive look at the Hillcrest 6’7” combo forward. Super long and lanky forward that has bounce around the hoop getting on the offensive glass. Puts it on the deck with his long strides where he either scored or was fouled. Really good in transition as a finisher. Had a couple impressive swats on D and was a decent passer. Showed a nice looking shot mechanically although it didn’t go down a ton. Think he should develop into a quality shooter.
Caden Vasko (Team RWA – IN Prospect)
Special mention for this Indiana prospect on the Illinois based Team RWA 16U squad. This kid can really shoot it from three. He had a stretch on Saturday where he couldn’t miss. Moves well without the ball to get open coming off screens. Also brings some toughness to the table.
Kai Rios (Illinois Hoopstars)
Rios is a 6’7” post that continues to make an impression this summer. The Rock Island five man has a strong frame, but moves very well on the interior. Makes quick and efficient moves once the ball touches his hands. Seals off his man on the catch. Converts dump off passes with ease. Uses the glass very well banking in shots. Quality rebounder on both ends. The last month has really helped his stock!
Martell Webb Martell Webb 6'7" | C Tinley Park | 2022 State IL (Illinois Hoopstars)
Speaking of players in July that have helped themselves! Wow! Webb might be one of the handful of biggest stock boosters overall. He showed us some things in Indy that were intriguing, but then put it all together at the Omaha event. The 6’8” five man was a grown man! He was dominant all weekend. The Westinghouse rising junior is a wide bodied post that has gotten in better shape and knows how to use his girth to his advantage. Light on his feet with quick moves down low. Had an array of power moves and hook shots for scores. Mauled opponents on the glass. So efficient with the ball in his hands. Touch and feel around the hoop were impressive.
Turner Plumer ( Archangels )
Plumer had a nice showing in their Saturday game. The 6’5” Canton High School product is a face up four man that displayed his ability to be effective from multiple levels. Drilled a mid-range shot and could also score on the block with assertive moves. Pretty good running the floor as well.
