Jeremiah Talton Jeremiah Talton 6'6" | SF Quincy Senior | 2022 State IL (Quincy)
Debut Ranking: #11
Talton blew us away with what he put on film as a sophomore for Quincy jumping from unranked to #11 in the class. He has excellent size on the perimeter at 6’6” with a long and lanky frame that can add some strength moving forward. His biggest asset at this stage is his three point shooting. Free and easy release on triples off the catch. Very repeatable mechanics and excellent shot prep. This past season he drilled 56 total threes shooting 40% from beyond the arc. Moves well without the ball to get open coming off screens. Plus athlete that is explosive around the hoop. Quick catching dump off passes on the baseline and finishing them from his teammates. Also rebounds very well for a young guard recording 6 boards a game as a sophomore. Particularly effective getting on the offensive glass for second chance points. Also does work inside against smaller perimeter defenders taking them to the block for scores in the paint. Solid ball handler that uses his athleticism off the bounce. Finishes pretty well through contact. Defensively he might have set the record for most number of charges I have seen in a highlight video. On the year he recorded 22 charges taken. Also uses length getting in passing lanes and can block an occasional shot in help defense.
Caden Pierce Caden Pierce 6'5" | SG Glenbard West | 2022 State IL (Glenbard West)
Debut Ranking: #26
Pierce began to create some buzz in the second half of the season as part of Glenbard West’s strong 2022 core. Long arms with a frame that he should be able to add some strength. Clean shot off the catch. Crafty finisher with reverse layups. Skilled all-around game with his passing, shooting, etc. Just an average athlete that could get better once he gets stronger.
Christian Jones
Christian
Jones
6'4" | SG
East St. Louis | 2022
State
IL
(Granite City)
Debut Ranking: #27
Jones is a 6’4” guard that can play both on and off the ball. What you have to like about him is his developmental upside. Super long frame with broad shoulders to add strength on long term. Plays with confidence for a young player. He is at his best when taking it to the hoop on straight line takes in the half court and using his burst in the open floor getting to the rim in transition. He has some turnovers when he gets loose with the rock. Shows flashes in his mid-range game on pull ups and floaters. Not much of a three point shooter at this stage. Like his upside defensively being able to guard multiple positions and use his length to contest and block shots. The way he stuffed the stat sheet as a sophomore showing a solid passing feel and rebounding well from his guard spot was impressive.
Tavarius Vinson Tavarius Vinson 7'0" | C Dyett | 2022 State IL (Dyett)
Debut Ranking: #32
Vinson is a 7 foot center with a long and lanky frame. Room to add strength physically. He is a fluid rim runner in the open floor. Finishes pretty well catching dump off passes in traffic then dunking the ball. Almost all of his finishes were dunks. Shot blocking presence with his super long wingspan.
Zach Cleveland Zach Cleveland 6'8" | PF Normal West | 2022 State IL (Normal Community)
Debut Ranking: #38
At 6’6” he is a face up four man who has major bounce! Loves reverse layups attacking on the baseline. Even caught one lob that he finished with one hand on the opposite side. Quick and aggressive moves with the ball in his hands. Can hit a three and has an excellent fade away game out of the post.
Trey Redd Trey Redd 5'11" | PG Normal Community | 2022 State IL (Normal Community)
Debut Ranking: #45
Redd is an intriguing 5’10” point guard. The lefty has deep range on his three point shot. Crisp and shifty ball handler that speeds it up in the open floor. Acrobatic layup maker. Passes with quite a bit of flair.
Kayden Nation Kayden Nation 6'6" | SF Elevation Prep | 2022 IN (Limestone)
Debut Ranking: #46
Nation is a 6’5” power forward with a thick body at 220 pounds. Good body positioning and feel in the paint scoring. Has touch and knows how to seal his man off. Also can really shoot the ball facing up displaying excellent form on his shot from three with a slow release. Average athlete that can block an occasional shot.
David Gieser David Gieser 6'3" | SG Evanston | 2022 State IL (Fenwick)
Debut Ranking: #49
The 6’3” two guard made 52 threes while shooting 42% from beyond the arc. Moves well to get open and is a plus spot up threat that can also hit a one dribble pull up. Can never have enough shooters!
Patrick Robinson Patrick Robinson 6'4" | SG Oswego East | 2022 State IL . (Oswego East)
Debut Ranking: #52
This 6’4” shooting guard is a plus athlete on the wing with a lot of upside. Quick and aggressive moves with the ball in his hands. Slick with the ball in his hands. Gets to the rim and can finish with either hand at the cup. Free and easy release on his jump shot as well.
Dajuan Bates Dajuan Bates 6'1" | PG De La Salle | 2022 State IL (De La Salle)
Debut Ranking: #57
Bates was the second leading scorer for De La Salle this past season at almost 13 ppg. The 6’1” combo guard has long arms and a smooth offensive game being able to score from multiple levels with his ability to win off the bounce and hit shots pulling up.
