I have 13 breakout sophomores to comment about. (7 currently ranked and 6 not ranked)
Here are the next six potential breakout sophomores:
Not ranked Lashy Perez Lashy Perez 6'2" | PG Apollo | 2023 State AZ (Apollo) (Pictured)
-The bigger PG will be a good one for Coach Marin. Has a smooth game and can score it from all 3 levels plus make plays for his teammates.
Not ranked Erenzo Scroggins Erenzo Scroggins 6'4" | SF AZ Compass Prep Black | 2023 State AZ (McClintock)
-One of the best athletes in the class with great length. The quick-twitch athlete springs up with the best of them. He is mostly scoring the ball close to the rim and is active throughout a game.
Not ranked Paul Oscislawski Paul Oscislawski 6'4" | SG Chaparral | 2023 State AZ (Chaparral)
-A versatile inside out threat. He has great strength to bang with the biggest players and can shoot the ball from the perimeter consistently.
Not ranked AJ Turner AJ Turner 5'11" | PG Skyline Prep | 2023 State AZ (CDS)
-An athletic guard is good on the ball defensively and can really shoot it. He is best off the catch but he can put the ball on the floor as well with good open court speed.
Not ranked Nathan Burrell Nathan Burrell 6'4" | SF Phhoenix Prep | 2024 State AZ (Phhoenix Prep)
-Arguably one of the best standstill shooters in the class. He has beautiful form with a quick trigger and a consistent approach in every attempt. A true sniper who is a current specialist but is broadening his game.
Not ranked Anthony-Lamar Wilcox Anthony-Lamar Wilcox 5'8" | PG Skyline Prep | 2024 AZ (Maricopa)
-Another new player for me shined in the recent Pangos AZ League. He may be small but fast, quick with the ball, has a good handle and has real range on his 3pt shooting. He also is a smart play-maker. He should have a big season for the Rams.
