Big Shots Myrtle Beach Part 1: Big Shots WVA Elite Evaluations
Ryan Reasbeck Ryan Reasbeck 6'3" | SG Wheeling Central Catholic | 2022 State WV – 6’3” SG Wheeling Central 2022
Reasbeck (pictured above) really impressed me last week in Myrtle Beach. He proved to me and everyone else watching/competing that he was one of the top shooters in the gym at all times. Playing an age group up, he averaged 26 points per game and hit 27 3 pointers in 6 games. The 6’3” shooting guard has made major improvements in his shooting off the dribble and has also improved his handle. Mid and low major D1’s need to contact Reasbeck.
Carson Poffenberger Carson Poffenberger 6'7" | PF Morgantown | 2021 State WV – 6’8” PF/C Morgantown 2021
Poffenberger really impressed me this weekend. His game has taken strides since last seeing him play in February. The big man from Morgantown appears to have grown and is now being listed at 6’8”. Poffenberger is physical and does a great job at establishing position down low. For the weekend he averaged around 11 points and showed major improvements in his rebounding. This school year, Poffenberger averaged 5.4 rebounds. Last week, playing high level competition he definitely topped that number. He is not the most athletic, but Carson has a high motor and a high basketball IQ. Low major D1’s and D2’s should inquire.
DJ Saunders DJ Saunders 6'1" | PG Wheeling Park | 2021 State WV – 6’0” PG Wheeling Park 2021
The pass first PG from Wheeling Park wouldn’t blow you away with his numbers from this past weekend, but what would’ve impressed anyone was his motor. Saunders showed off his grit and toughness all weekend. He sat down in a stance and defended all weekend, at times picking up full court. Offensively, he struggled to score it but did a good job of getting his teammates involved and getting them good looks. D2’s and high level D3’s should inquire.
