It was another four long days of basketball and I tried to catch as many games as possible focusing primarily on the class of 2021 because those are the guys who need it the most. These are a few of the players who stood out for the Tampa Titans, TNT HoopSquad, and the Q6-All Stars (Anderson).
Tampa Titans
G/F Drew Kramer Drew Kramer 6'6" | CG Lakeland Christian | 2021 State FL (2021) 6-5 Lakeland Christian
In the lone game that I watched Kramer, it was easy to identify him as a college prospect. In that game, he anticipated where the ball was going to come off the rim to grab rebounds, and sank three pointers with a beautiful stroke. On a couple of plays Kramer drew the help defense, and dumped it off to his teammate on the block for the easy score. An above average athlete, the bouncy wing showed off some athleticism in transition crushing down big two handed jams. With some local Division II schools showing interest, expect Kramer to be one of Polk County’s top prospects in the class of 2021.
TNT Hoopsquad
SF/PF Ocypher Owens Ocypher Owens 6'4" | CG Orlando Christian Prep | 2021 State FL 6-6(2021) Orlando Christian Prep
Owens had a huge weekend, showing off a diverse offensive skill set. He did an excellent job of taking advantage of mismatches, as he usually drew the opposing teams largest defender. When the defense didn’t close out on him, he was automatic off of the catch and shoot from 3-point territory. When the defense closed out on him, he used his quickness to get to the basket. As he continues to improve handling the ball against defensive pressure, and getting stronger more schools should come calling. There is a lot of upside and potential here.
SG Denzel Luna 6-2 (2021) Timber Creek
Luna had another very impressive weekend with several 20 plus point efforts. Against the Q6 All Stars he was electric hitting five 3-pointers in the first half. Luna also showed the ability to take his man off the dribble with crafty handles, and a strong upper body allowing him to finish through contact. With a senior season left to improve his foot speed, and to get into the best shape of his life, Luna is one for college coaches to keep an eye on.
SG Josiah Sarasty Josiah Sarasty 6'2" | SG Faith Christian | 2021 State FL 6-2 (2021) Faith Christian
It only takes a few games of watching Sarasty to come to the conclusion that his father is probably a basketball coach. With a basketball IQ well above his years, the guard seemingly always makes the right play. Offensively, Sarasty has displayed the ability to score from all three levels, in addition to being an excellent passer. With several Division III schools taking notice, expect a big senior season out of the scoring guard.
Q6 All Stars (Anderson)
C Immanuel Zorgvol (2021) 6-10 Central Florida Christian
With a wingspan that is probably in the seven foot range there’s some serious long term potential when it comes to Zorgvol. Only having started playing basketball a few years ago, the big man has shown some natural instincts for the game blocking shots, and showing some solid footwork in the post. At 6-10 Zorgvol gets up and down the court like a guard, and has above average lateral quickness for someone his size. With adding muscle to his long lanky frame, and continued progress learning the game, there is certainly a college basketball program out there for the Center.
