Key Players
Ethan Millirons Ethan Millirons 6'0" | PG Auburn | 2022 State VA | 6’0” PG | Auburn 2022
The reigning VHSL Class 1 POY highlights a talented backcourt that features multiple players that should be scholarship level kids when it’s all said and done. Millirons isn’t the biggest or most athletic guard, but he’s highly skilled, crafty and knows how to play the game at a high level and brings it against some of the top competition no matter who he’s matched up with. He’s a guy who can score it from multiple levels off the bounce, he makes great decisions with the ball in his hands and he’s highly efficient at the point guard position.
Piercen Young Piercen Young 6'4" | SG Virginia Episcopal | 2022 State VA | 6’2” G | VES 2022
Young is an underrated guy out of Lynchburg who has been as steady as they come over the past few years. This season at VES, he showed his versatility by playing multiple positions, including laying on the ball and making good decisions and making others better. He’s a fiery competitor that produces across the board, he’s an underrated athlete who is strong and explosive and he can shoot it from deep as well.
Jayson Easton Jayson Easton 6'4" | SG James River (Buchanan VA) | 2022 State VA | 6’2” WF | Allegheny 2022
Easton isn’t from the biggest area and some may not know about him, but he had a huge season last year at Allegheny where he had multiple 30 point games. A long and athletic shot maker, Easton is a guy who can score it consistently rom multiple levels and can play on and off the basketball to get his shots. He displayed a killer instinct last year, and he’s a guy who produces on both ends of the floor and rebounds well too.
Ayrion Journiette | 6’0” G | Northside 2022
Journiette is one of the more athletic guys of this group, and last year he stepped into a much bigger role for Northside and should be a go-to guy for them this year. The 6’0” combo guard is lightning quick off the bounce, has improved as an outside shooter and has shown a lot of potential on the defensive end too. He’s a guy who thrives in transition and gets downhill where he’s a fearless and good finisher through traffic at the basket.
Under the Radar Players
Jack Faulkner Jack Faulkner 5'11" | PG Patrick Henry | 2022 State VA | 5’10” PG | Patrick Henry 2022
Faulkner spent the last two years as the starting point guard for Roanoke Catholic and although it’s a crowded backcourt, Faulkner should find a way on the floor with his ability to shoot it and make plays for others. He’s a skilled and smart guard who can run a team and is very crafty off the bounce. He can fill it up quickly from deep and has a toughness about him you may not think of when you see him.
Josiah Banks Josiah Banks 6'3" | SF Floyd County | 2023 VA | 6’4” WF | Floyd County 2022
Banks is a guy who showed tremendous potential on a young Floyd County team this past year that should be good next year. At 6’5” and still growing, he’s a guy who can play and guard multiple positions with his versatility. He’s a guy who can bring the ball up the floor and use his size to see over people and deliver passes, he can make shots from deep and his length causes problems on the defensive end as well.
Patrick Clevenger | 6’6” WF | James River 2022
Clevenger is an under the radar guy we forgot about in our rankings but he absolutely deserves to be in it. His skill set at his size is what’s most impressive, as he’s a guy who can make shots at a high clip from deep and is big enough to get to the rim and finish through traffic. He isn’t the most athletic guy but he’s smart and skilled enough to get to his spots and make shots from all over.
