2023 5-10 PG Ashton Pennamon Ashton Pennamon 6'0" | PG Newton | 2023 State GA – JC Travel Sports Ducks – Newton
Pennamon showed poise and potential on Sunday. The shifty guard did a nice job of splitting traps and getting into the paint. Pennamon is a good ball handler that can be hard to stop in transition. He sank two threes en route to 11 points.
2022 6-2 CG Chaydon Stone – JC Travel Sports Ducks – Jones County
Chaydon Stone’s overall floor game impressed. He used his length to pester ball handlers and on offense, he did well balancing his scoring with his playmaking. Stone showed that he can knockdown open looks from deep. Stone finished with 10 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal.
2023 6-4 F Cameron Kelly Cameron Kelly 6'7" | PF Buford | 2023 State GA – Livin’ Legends Elite Blue – Buford
Cam Kelly caught my eye with his play off the bench. A long-armed forward, Kelly provided instant energy inside. He’s got a steady motor and takes pride in his defense, trying to alter every shot near him. Kelly is more of a post right now, but from time to time he floated out to the perimeter and managed to attack the basket. Cameron flirted with a triple-double vs. the KA Nightmares going for 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 blocks.
2023 5-10 G Charlie Reisman Charlie Reisman 6'2" | CG Gainesville | 2023 State GA – ATL Timberwolves – Gainesville
Reisman caught fire against Team Forrest and nearly led the Timberwolves back. He drilled four of his five threes in the second half and finished with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 1 block. Reisman found holes in the defense and made them pay for not marking him.
2023 5-11 PG Isaac Martin Isaac Martin 6'1" | PG King's Ridge Christian School | 2023 State GA – ATL Timberwolves – King’s Ridge
Known for his three-point shot, Isaac Martin Isaac Martin 6'1" | PG King's Ridge Christian School | 2023 State GA didn’t let stingy defense disrupt his effectiveness. The southpaw managed 2 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists and 1 block. Martin kept his dribble alive against pressure and found his shooters in their sweet spots.
2023 6-0 CG Zak Thomas Zak Thomas 6'0" | PG King's Ridge | 2023 State GA – ATL Timberwolves – Fellowship Christian
The versatile scorer attacked the defense from different levels. Thomas has the strength to get to the rim and has the finesse to finish. He balanced scoring inside and out. Thomas nailed three threes on his way to 18 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.
2023 6-3 PG Noah Melson Noah Melson 6'3" | PG Alexander | 2023 State GA – Team Forrest – Alexander
Noah Melson Noah Melson 6'3" | PG Alexander | 2023 State GA drips with potential. He was cooking in the first half, sizing up his defenders and pulling up from three. Melson has a sharp crossover that can shake his man and has a plethora of crafty finishes when he gets to the cup. He’s got a long wiry build and a quick first step. He has the tools to become a big-time scorer under Coach Jason Slate. Melson tacked on 19 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in a 58-52 win over the Atlanta Timberwolves.
2023 6-11 C DK Manyiel DK Manyiel 7'0" | C Greenforest | 2023 State GA – Team Forrest – Greenforest
There’s no denying the immense upside DK Manyiel DK Manyiel 7'0" | C Greenforest | 2023 State GA possess. He runs the floor gracefully and does the little things like keeping the ball high on rebounds. He compounded the two when he went coast-to-coast for a bucket in transition – something you don’t see often from a 6-foot-11 center. Manyiel plays more like a guard for his size. Every scoring opportunity he had he took jumpers. Turnarounds out of the post and even the mid-range. He’s got a nice touch, but with having a six- and seven-inch advantage on those guarding him, I would have liked to see him try to finish strong at the rim instead of fading away. Either way, Manyiel should have a very bright future with the skill set he already has in place. He went for 6 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 5 blocks vs. the Atlanta Timberwolves.
