2023 6-2 G Antonio Baker Antonio Baker 6'3" | SG Johnson-Savannah | 2023 State GA – Atlanta Celtics South – Johnson-Savannah
Battling a loaded Team Speights, Antonio Baker Antonio Baker 6'3" | SG Johnson-Savannah | 2023 State GA was up to the challenge and looked like the best player on the floor. The lengthy guard is active and plays both sides of the ball. He has some wiggle to his game and can slice his way into the paint. Baker also can stretch out the defense with his three-point shot. He nailed five trifectas in his monster performance. Baker really shined on defense with his on-ball pressure and quick hands. He poured in 26 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 6 steals and 2 blocks. Baker looks like the future for the Atomsmashers.
2023 5-9 PG Tayden Owens – Atlanta All-Stars – Cherokee
Owens doesn’t have the size like brother Taihland, but he does have the same scoring touch. He’s a patient guard that can probe the defense until he finds something he likes. Owens has a quick first step and does a nice job of getting a piece of the paint on his drives. He knows how to use the floater and had a reliable three-point shot. Owens is a good decision maker in the open floor and rarely takes any bad shots. He went for 23 points (3 threes), 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals. Owens is exactly what the doctor ordered in the Cherokee backcourt – another playmaker that can create his own offense.
2023 6-3 W Mason Etter Mason Etter 6'5" | SF Etowah | 2023 State GA – Atlanta All-Stars – Etowah
Winner. Mason Etter Mason Etter 6'5" | SF Etowah | 2023 State GA finds ways to win, just like older brother Jaxon did. In a 63-56 victory over the Iron City Huskies, Etter was integral. He hit three threes and drew a charge. He had his eye busted open with 5:45 remaining and did not return as blood streamed down the side of his face, but it was nothing compared to the damage he did against the Huskies going for 19 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 block.
2023 6-7 PF Brigham Rogers – Atlanta All-Stars – Blessed Trinity
There’s a lot to like about Brigham Rogers’ future. A long mobile post, Rogers can get up and down the floor and defend multiple positions. He does a good job of keeping his arms straight up when defending inside. On offense, Rogers has some upside with good feet and a baby hook. He posted 8 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 7 blocks in the win over Iron City.
2023 6-4 W Shamarrie Hugie Shamarrie Hugie 6'4" | SF Franklin Prep | 2023 GA – Georgia Ignites – Beach
Long and strong, Hugie has a tremendous projectable body that should be able to pack on even more muscle than he already has. Shamarrie can score around the basket and has the strength to power through contact. He had two nice drives baseline that the defense could do nothing with. Improving his ball skills and three-point shot will help round out his offense. Hugie has plenty of potential to be a game-changer on both ends of the floor. He finished with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal vs. the JC Ducks.
2023 6-1 G Juwan Boggs Juwan Boggs 6'1" | SG Jenkins | 2023 State GA – Georgia Ignites – Jenkins
A strong thick guard, Boggs used his physical frame to play all over the floor. He could help out with ball handling one trip down, then play in the paint the next. As he did during the high school season, Boggs attacked the glass hard. He posted 13 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block.
