The 4A SIC is packed with talent this year and there are sure to be a ton of great games played throughout the season. Here is a an early look at what to expect from the 4A SIC this season.
Middleton Vikings: Under coach Andrew Harrington, the Vikings put together an impressive 15-1 conference record on the road to losing in the state semi-finals. Middleton will miss the loss of graduating senior Tyler Robinett Tyler Robinett 6'6" | PF Middleton | 2020 State ID but will look to their guard-heavy line-up to take on the 4A SIC. Watch for Merit Foote, a 6’0″ hard-nosed defender and willing passer, Taede Stucki Taede Stucki 6'2" | SG Middleton | 2021 State ID , a 6’2″ guard with a great looking jump shot and a quick release.
Bishop Kelly Knights: The Knights, led by coach Ryan Kerns, will look to jump to the top of the conference standings this season after finishing 12-4 in 2019-20. After making the state tournament, the Knights lost in the opening round, but will have plenty of talent and depth to make a run for the state title this season. Watch for Aiden McCarthy, a 6’0″ senior guard with great vision and a quick release on his jumpshot, and Skyler Kichak, a 6’3″ guard/forward with excellent hands on defense and lots of energy.
Nampa Bulldogs: After finishing 10-6 in conference play in 2019-20 under coach Derek Pegram, the Bulldogs look to climb the conference ladder and take home the top spot this season. Nampa has slowly been building their way back into a powerhouse program and I expect 2020-21 to be a breakout season for the Bulldogs. Look for Colton Seable to do a little bit of everything for the Bulldogs from guard play, all the way to the post, and as a defensive stopper.
Vallivue Falcons: The Falcons, under coach Mario Betancourt, finished last season at 9-7. The 2020-21 season brings another opportunity for the Falcons to return to the state tournament in hopes of making a deep run at the title. Vallivue brings a lot of returners back with lots of varsity experience and talent. Watch out for Gavin Weisweaver, a 5’11” sharp-shooter off the dribble and on the catch and an excellent finisher at the rim, and Trace Harrison, a crafty guard with tight handles and great decision-making skills out of the pick-and-roll.
