When this is the case, it becomes important to look at not just the Top 10, but the 2nd then as well – 11-20. These athletes all have high level collegiate potential. That being said, let’s look at 2023’s “Second 10”.

Ryan Hurst Ryan Hurst 6'2" | SG North Farmington | 2023 State MI (SG, West Bloomfield)
Hurst just has a really nice all around game. By the time he’s a senior, good luck finding a glaring weakness. Hurst will be a must see player over the next 3 years.

Wyatt Nausadis Wyatt Nausadis 6'4" | PG Traverse City St. Francis | 2023 State MI (PG, Traverse City St. Francis)
Nausadis came into high school with a varsity ready build. He’s a strong and tough young man that can play through contact. Nausadis will be fun to watch battling with the best during grassroots season.

John Blackwell John Blackwell 6'3" | CG Brother Rice | 2023 State #185 Nation MI (SG, Brother Rice)
Blackwell can flat out put the ball in the bucket. He has one of the highest ceilings of any prospect in the class. Blackwell is explosive, yet sneaky, with the ball.

Chuck Bailey III (PG, Birmingham Groves)
Bailey III is a top 10 talent. He has a high basketball IQ and plays an incredibly efficient game from the point. Bailey III can break down a defender and create for himself and his teammates.

Grant Gondrezick Grant Gondrezick 6'2" | PG Benton Harbor | 2023 State MI (PG, Lakeshore)
Grondezick is a silky smooth floor general. He’s the type of young man that coaches want to have the ball late in a game. Grondezick can score and distribute at a high level.

Luke Hazelton Luke Hazelton 6'7" | PF Glen Lake | 2023 State MI (PF, Glen Lake)
Hazelton is big, physical, and versatile. He can play inside-out and is a matchup nightmare for opponents. Hazelton reads the game well and finds his easiest path to a bucket.

Mekhai Walker Mekhai Walker 6'3" | SF Detroit Cass Tech | 2023 State MI (SF, Detroit Cass Tech)
Walker is a hard nosed wing. He has a flare of toughness that adds a nice component to his game. Walker rebounds well off the wing.

Robert Lee Robert Lee 6'2" | SG Flint Beecher | 2023 State MI (SG, Flint Beecher)
Lee is a playmaker with or without the ball in his hands. He stays active by moving without the ball and is a nice finisher in transition.

Markell Johnson (SF, Roseville)
Johnson has an incredibly high ceiling as a prospect. He has a nice combination of strength and vertical athleticism.

Damaryon Fishburn Damaryon Fishburn 6'4" | CG Trillium Academy | 2023 State MI (CG, Taylor Trillium)
Fishburn is an underrated guard. He can play on or off the ball and can score through the flow of the offense or in an iso situation.
