Wesley Adkins | Team Buddy Buckets Kansas PG | Wichita Southeast (KS) ’21 (pictured above) |
Adkins played a pure point role for TBBK last weekend and did a few things really well. One that I noticed was his utilization of his speed and athleticism. Adkins did a great job of pushing the pace for TBBK, especially against full-court pressure, and his vision, craft with the ball and smooth control combined to allow him to find the gaps, pass the ball down-court and help TBBK gather easy buckets. Defensively, Adkins held the perimeter really well, kept the ball in front of him and was reluctant to give.
Kaleb Gaddis Kaleb Gaddis 6'1" | PG Andover | 2021 State KS | Team Buddy Buckets PG | Andover (KS) ’21 |
Gaddis is a born playmaker. Whether it was for himself or teammates, Gaddis created possibilities with tenacity and focus; he penetrated the lane frequently, and thanks to his handles and vision, he was able to pass the ball exceptionally on the drive-and-kick. He could twist and turn his body in an acrobatic fashion to hand a sweet pass to a teammate on the perimeter or through traffic to an interior scorer. He has good lateral agility, and he can stretch and shift past opposing defenders with polished moves. He could use those same attributed to get to the rack and score on his own, as well. As a defender, Gaddis used his iQ to slide to help, encourage ball-handlers into the fray and pick pockets.
Sean Pedulla Sean Pedulla 6'1" | PG Edmond Memorial | 2021 State #81 Nation OK | Team Buddy Buckets PG | Edmond Memorial (OK) ’21 |
Pedulla played at-par with his regular excellence. Netting almost 25 points-a-game over five contests, Pedulla led TBB past numerous Division-I talents and commits with his scoring and facilitating talents. Scoring appeared almost easy to him as he used his handles to perfection, slithered and powered his way to the rack, and finished with either hand to great efficiency. He shot the ball with fervent consistency from deep and his mid-range game was as on-point. A precise passer with impressive awareness, Pedulla also gathered assists at a college rate, placing the ball in ideal locations with proximity to the basket using hooks, wrap-arounds and kick-outs — each polished with either hand — on the drive. Even against a D-I-talented interior enforcer, Pedulla was insistent upon putting the ball in the basket against contact.
Harrison Braudis Harrison Braudis 6'1" | PG Stillwell | 2021 State KS | MOKAN PG | Bishop Miege (KS) ’21 |
Everything Braudis did last weekend was quick; purposeful and tenacious. An elusive and athletic slashing scorer, he was all over the court making plays in each matchup I saw him play. His handles paired with his shiftiness, allowing him to separate laterally and down-hill to get to the rack. Once he was there, it was his hand-work that allowed him to put the ball in the basket. His scoring prowess also included a floater, reverse and an array of polished weapons in his package. Braudis also displayed knock-down shooting talents as defenders resigned to space to stop him on the drive.
Keyshon Spotwood Keyshon Spotwood 6'0" | CG Edmond Memorial | 2021 State OK | Team Buddy Buckets PG | Edmond Memorial (OK) ’21 |
A focused and polished two-way player for TBB, Spotwood did a few things well on both ends of the floor; offensively, it was his finishing skills in transition that impressed. He was able to legitimately produce buckets that may have not otherwise happened if not for his craft with the ball — jelly, or whatever they call it. Finishing reverse, placing the perfect the rotation on the ball and finishing through contact were each part of his arsenal last weekend. Defensively, he was a remarkable talent. Spotwood is an aggressive ball-hawk and pick-pocketer who played with uncanny focus as an on-ball and off-ball defender, harassing ball-handlers and forcing turnovers at a habitual pace.
