To take advantage of this, we have started to add these videos to players in Oregon in the Class of 2022 at all different levels. Here’s a look at four more players whose profiles have recently been updated.
Prospect: Mason VanBeenen Mason VanBeenen 6'9" | PF West Linn | 2022 State OR
HS: West Linn
Height/Position: 6-8 – Forward
PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2022 Ranking: #7
Video Added to Site: http://www.hudl.com/v/2DPziD
Analysis: VanBeenen is a mobile big man who could very well transition into being a wing at the next level. In high school so far though he’s mainly set up shop down low, where he has advanced footwork for a young post and a soft touch around the hoop. While we only see a little bit of it in this film, the lefty can step outside, knock down open threes or create off the dribble. Defensively, VanBeenen has good instincts as a shot-blocker in the paint. As he continues to develop physically, his confidence will grow.
Prospect: Aidan Slater Aidan Slater 6'1" | CG Central Catholic | 2022 State OR
HS: Central Catholic
Height/Position: 6-1 – Combo Guard
PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2022 Ranking: #12
Video Added to Site: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J77tFf13iG4
Analysis: Slater is best known for his shooting ability and his film certainly doesn’t lie. He’s extremely effective in catch-and-shoot situations and if he gets a clean look, any shot from Slater has a definite chance. He squares up well, has a quick release, and his range extends out past NBA three-point range. Slater doesn’t just bomb away either as he shows some ball skills and is willing to find the open man off the dribble drive. Shooting will always be his calling card but he may very well develop as a combo guard.
Prospect: Leo Sewell Leo Sewell 5'9" | PG Wilson | 2022 State OR
HS: Wilson
Height/Position: 5-9 – Point Guard
PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2022 Ranking: #21
Video Added to Site: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuVBk1PxwBw
Analysis: From the film, it’s not hard to see why Sewell led 6A in assists this past season. As shown in several plays, he’s got good court vision, is able to make quick decisions, and fires off crisp, bullet passes to the open man for easy buckets. For his own offense, he has a nice touch out past three-point range but also has the quickness to get past his man and finish around the hoop, even despite his smallish 5-foot-9 frame.
Prospect: Spencer McKelligon Spencer McKelligon 6'3" | SF Jesuit | 2022 State OR
HS: Jesuit
Height/Position: 6-2 – Forward / Guard
PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2022 Ranking: NR
Video Added to Site: https://www.hudl.com/video/3/14636444/5e48e97b3df5a015e86844b0
Analysis: The first thing you notice about McKelligon from his film is his mature body. At 6-foot-2, 195-pounds, he has the build and strength to absorb contact while finishing near the hoop and while he’s undersized down low, it helps him on the boards and defensively establishing position. McKelligon can also create a bit off the dribble and he has good court vision, finding cutters to the basket with passes within Jesuit’s motion offense. He’s not currently ranked but will certainly be added in the next pass.
