To take advantage of this, we have started to add these videos to players in Oregon in the Class of 2021 at all different levels. Here’s a look at four players whose profiles have recently been updated, all of whom will be playing together for the Oregon Prospects AAU program.
Prospect: Nathan Rawlins-Kibonge Nathan Rawlins-Kibonge 6'7" | PF Jefferson | 2021 #228 Nation OR
HS: Jefferson
Height/Position: 6-7 – Power Forward
PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2021 Ranking: #3
Video Linked to Site: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFoaCrUr7CY&t=26s
Analysis: Who better to start with than the 6A Player of the Year? Highlights from this past season make it pretty clear why Rawlins-Kibonge earned those honors. It all starts on the defensive end where all aspects of his dominance are shown. He uses his length and athleticism to be a major shot-blocking threat, whether it’s defending his man straight up, coming over from the weak side to erase layup attempts, or rush out to perimeter shooters to block their shots. Rawlins-Kibonge won’t just look to block everything either as he’s willing to set up and take a charge. Offensively, he’s near automatic around the hoop and can step out and hit the occasional wide open jumper. A Washington State hoops commit, it appears that football may be his route to college but he’s maintained he’d also love the opportunity to play basketball as well.
Prospect: Trace Salton Trace Salton 6'5" | SF Lake Oswego | 2021 State OR
HS: Lake Oswego
Height/Position: 6-6 – Small Forward
PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2021 Ranking: #7
Video Linked to Site: http://www.hudl.com/v/2DUDU7
Analysis: After a sophomore year that started late due to recovering from injury, Salton was expected to emerge as a leading man in 2019-20 and he lived up to that promise. The 6-foot-6 forward ended up leading Lake Oswego in scoring (13.7 ppg) and rebounding (7.5 rpg) on his way to earning First Team All-Three Rivers League honors. Built with a strong frame, he’s able to establish position down low and score in the post, utilizing a soft touch on fadeaway shots. Salton can face the basket and as the clips show, his perimeter game has developed as he can hit some open threes but he’s probably most comfortable creating off the bounce where he can finish at or near the rim or pull-ups around the elbow. Salton has already earned D-I (UC Riverside) and D-II (St. Martin’s) scholarship offers.
Prospect: Elijah Munyan Elijah Munyan 6'3" | SG Gresham | 2021 State OR
HS: Gresham
Height/Position: 6-3 – Shooting Guard
PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2021 Ranking: #15
Video: https://www.hudl.com/v/2DViwm
Analysis: One of the top leapers in the state, Munyan made the move up in classification to 6A from 2A Columbia Christian with very little difficulty. The 6-foot-3 guard clearly utilizes his athleticism as shown in the highlight reel, whether it’s getting up to finish an alley-oop or coming over to reject a shot from an opponent’s drive to the hoop. Offensively, he’s capable of hitting jumpers either off the catch-and-shoot or after a couple of dribbles, or he can completely take it to the hoop and finish around the hoop.
Prospect: Brady Grier Brady Grier 6'5" | SF Westview | 2021 State OR
HS: Westview
Height/Position: 6-5 – Small Forward / Shooting Guard
Video: http://www.hudl.com/v/2DVR54
Analysis: Grier is one of the top shooters in the Class of 2021, especially one with his height. He specializes in the catch and shoot but is also able to use a couple of dribbles to keep oncoming defender off-balance to get an even more open shot. At 6-foot-5, 190 pounds Grier can also use his size to get into the lane and finish plays while absorbing contact. Overall he is an all-around player that helps move the ball to find the open man, does a good job of boxing out to get defensive rebounds, and stays with his man on the defensive end.
