Camden was a dominant force all season as the Panthers won 25 straight games and finished as the top team in the state. Manasquan went 31-1 and took home its first Shore Conference title since the 1950’s. Group 2 is filled with big-time players capable of playing at the college level. Here are the top under the Radar Group 2 Stars.
Jerome Brewer, 6’6 SF Camden 2021
The Panthers rolled to the South Jersey Group 2 title behind Kentucky commit Lance Ware Lance Ware 6'9" | PF Camden | 2020 #42 Nation NJ , Penn State commit Ta’Quan Woodley Ta’Quan Woodley 6'7" | PF Camden | 2021 State #221 Nation NJ and Second Team All-State performer Dajuan Wagner Jr Dajuan Wagner Jr 6'4" | PG Camden | 2023 State #1 Nation NJ . With all that talent on the floor, it is easy for someone to get overlooked, but Brewer was still able to make his mark on the team. The 6’6 wing has a smooth offensive game as he can knock shots from behind the arc, beat his man off the dribble and finish around the basket. Brewer is a D1 talent and will put it on full display for Camden again next season.
Jack Collins, 6’5 SG Manasquan 2021
The Warriors were dominant all season long, but they will sorely miss Alex Galvan Alex Galvan 6'7" | PF Manasquan | 2020 State NJ and Kieran Flanagan Kieran Flanagan 6'1" | PG Manasquan | 2020 State NJ . Shore Conference Player of the Year Ben Roy Ben Roy 6'2" | PG Manasquan | 2022 State #218 Nation NJ returns to run the offense, but he will need Collins to up his scoring. The 6’5 guard has a good release on his shot and moves extremely well off the ball. Collins is a solid defender who knows how to get steals. Roy is capable of carrying Manasquan in 2020-21, but the Warriors need Collins to be a consistent secondary scorer.
Grant Holbrook Grant Holbrook 6'6" | SF Ramsey | 2021 State NJ , 6’5 SF Ramsey 2021
The Rams took home the North Jersey 1 Group 2 title behind Cornell commit Sean Hansen Sean Hansen 6'8" | PF Ramsey | 2020 State NJ , Albany baseball commit Steven Turk Steven Turk 6'5" | SF Ramsey | 2020 State NJ and Alabama preferred walk-on Jaden Quinerly Jaden Quinerly 6'0" | PG Ramsey | 2020 State NJ . Holbrook will be counted on to be the team’s go-to scorer and is ready for that role in 2020-21. He knows how to finish around the basket and understands how to run the wing. Holbrook has a good handle and is a solid jump shooter. Ramsey needs Holbrook to become the Rams’ top scorer if they want to repeat as North Jersey 2 Group 2 champions.
Aidan Kehoe Aidan Kehoe 6'11" | PF Canterbury | 2022 State NLG , 6’10 PF Pascack Hills 2021
The Cowboys fell just short of taking home the North Jersey 1 Group 2 title, but they should be in contention to win it again. Kehoe returns down low for the Cowboys and is ready for a strong senior season. The lanky 6’10 forward works hard on both ends of the floor and uses his length to block shots. Kehoe has a solid mid-range game and is a good free throw shooter. Pascack Hills is one of the favorites to win North Jersey 1 Group 2 title with Kehoe in the frontcourt.
Asim Jones Asim Jones 6'3" | SG Paterson Charter | 2022 State NJ , 5’10 PG Manchester Regional 2022
The Falcons were one of the top teams in the NJIC as they went 13-3 in division play. Jones is a dynamic point guard who is one of the more underrated players in the 2022 class. The 5’10 guard has a good handle and knows how to finish around the basket. Jones is more than just a slasher as he can knock down shots from behind the arc and make plays with the ball in his hands. Manchester Regional should be one of the top teams in Group 2 in 2020-21 with Jones back in the fold.
