Omari Smith- Sachse High School
Omari is an extremely confident shooter who moves very well without the ball to generate open looks for himself. He is comfortable running the baseline from corner to corner tiring out his defender and then slipping to the wing and squaring his body in the triple threat and rises over defenders with ease. He has a quick high arching shot that he is able to get off over anyone. He is incredibly intelligent in realizing the angles opened for him that come from his shooting ability and drives hard to continue to put pressure on the defense. If you give him a sliver of space to shoot off the catch, he will make you pay. He affected the game on many other levels, showing tenacity grabbing rebounds and making the right reads in moving the ball up the court quickly.
Daylan Fletcher- Lakeview Centennial High School
Daylan is a dual-sport athlete with a confident jumper and scrappy defensive ability. He has a confident and sharp jumper that he loves to get off in the corner. While in the corner he forces defenders to fully commit to contesting his shot, opening up driving lanes for his teammates and himself. He shoots well off the catch, moves intelligently into open space and gets open very well. He loves to poke the ball loose from ball handlers who have their head down trying to bully their way through him. He has an elite awareness at getting into passing lanes as well as getting easy rips on elite ball handlers.
Miqah Matthews- North Garland High School
Miqah is an elite guard who has been tasked with running his team’s offense since his freshman campaign. Despite his size, he is agile and quick with a tight handle that allows him to burst by defenders to get to the rim. He plays very well with pace and can get defenders off guard by simple changes in speed, even in the half-court off a quick crossover. He knows how to contort his body away from contact to finish at the rim and seems to be an expert at finishing with both hands on either side of the rim. Matthews showed great use of a hop step in traffic as well as a euro step to get away from defenders and finish on the other side of the rim.
Elijah San Juan- Rowlett High School 6’1
Elijah is a confident shooter who hits shots with ease when left alone. He does not mind hard closeouts and likes to get defenders jumping past him to open a driving lane for himself. He operates very cleanly in the corner, showing a variety of moves out of the triple threat with awareness of his spacing on the court and along the baseline. He has long arms and a great motor to cover for his teammates’ mistakes and loves smacking shots into the crowd. A dual-sport athlete, he has quick feet to cover anyone on the defensive side of the court and does well to disrupt opposing offenses.
Jayden Lawton- Naaman Forest
Jayden is an intelligent guard capable of shouldering the entire scoring load of an offense. His long arms allow him to finish with ease in the paint and over defenders, even despite his smaller size. He is extremely athletic and plays with great energy and hustle which he utilizes to disrupt opponents’ shots and run the fast break with tenacity. He is confident with the ball in his hands and looks to create for his teammates if his shot is not available at the rim. He is great at getting to the rack and when he gets the help defense to slide over, he makes a clean and difficult wrap around pass around the back of defenders. He is comfortable operating and controlling the tempo and the offense and seems to always make aware passes to open teammates. When given open looks to knock down shots on the corner and wing, he showed confidence and a straight jumper that looks like it should develop well at the next level.
