Killer lefty with an ebullient smile. Kameron is kind-hearted but ferocious. Jones ascended to the top point guard position late last month when Kennedy Chandler announced his intention to attend Sunrishe Christian Academy (KS). Kameron recently gained an offer from Marquette. Further, KJ is talking with Marquette this week over Zoom. His ceiling is SEC/Big 10/ACC. Most likely, Kameron is just beneath the UNC/Kentucky/Duke tier, but capable of starting anywhere else by his junior year of college. Tremendous scorer with an innovative basketball mind.

Tall, lanky, clever. JP Pegues is a winner through-and-through. He climbed over several elite guards in the rankings with a clutch junior season. Pegues started for Hillsboro as a freshman. He will star for Hillsboro as a senior. Pegues will need to be a Mr. Basketball Finalist to overtake Kameron Jones Kameron Jones 6'4" | PG ECS | 2021 State #177 Nation TN in the rankings, but that is possible considering his passionate heart and work ethic.

Welcome to JP’s world.
Class pass-first point guard at the next level. PJ maintains plenty of basketball friends around Nashville because he is easy to like. PJ commands the floor for Goodpasture and understands tempo and defense.

Incredible junior season. Reed somehow captured Williamson County Player of the Year after the Franklin Rebels lost one of their best players ever…Reese Glover. Kemp is a fiery, stone-faced point guard. There are no weaknesses. Quick, smart, talented, driven. Kemp is a fringe D1 player now. Keep an eye though. He might wind up OVC-ish.

Overall Ranking: 23

Fluid mobility. Great passer. Grew up in Dominican Republic, Mieses is possibly on the move after HHCA Head Coach Zach Ferrell took a college job in Florida. Mieses is a big variable. While most of the players on this list enjoyed gradual improvements throughout their young careers, Mieses took a leap when he moved to America and is likely to take another leap in the coming years as he develops a more comprehensive understanding of the game.

Reese McMullen Reese McMullen 6'2" | SG Christian Brothers | 2021 State TN , Christian Brothers
Overall Ranking: 24
PG Ranking: 8
Brilliant student. Brilliant basketball mind. Reese might be a little low in our rankings. He is a surefire D1 point guard with room to grow as a player. Christian Brothers runs a very structured, often efficient offense. Reese is capable of being a little more dynamic off-the-dribble in a different system. The results of Christian Brothers are impressive regardless. Reese loves to win and he is good at doing that.

Brainy. Exceptional size for the position. Adept outside shooter. Gritty. Looks lean, but Windley is a lithe lead guard. He could play either guard position at the next level because of his size and shooting ability. Few weaknesses in his game.

Zion is a plus athlete. Father was a dominant high school player too. Zion enters his senior season among the best Class AAA point guards in the state. His Siegel Stars started him from his freshman season and now it is his time to push them deep, deep into the playoffs. Coincidentally, the entire ’21 class at Siegel is special.

Cameron is still one of the most respected lead guards in Memphis. He is a better PG than 11th in the state now, but projects less favorably than the prospects above. Exceptional quickness and court vision.

Great shooter. Needs to bulk up a little bit for college. Lost a great senior guard, Jeff Norment Jeff Norment 5'11" | PG Bolivar Central | 2020 State TN , to graduation. Now Lax must become the team’s leader. He can score in bunches and loves the game. Last season, Lax scored 15 ppg on 40% shooting. He also managed 4.7 apg. Expect those numbers to climb even higher in 6 months when we hopefully return to normalcy.

Overall Ranking: 51

Silky, left-handed guard. Ametri is a unique talent blessed with an “old-man’s game.” Imagine that 40-year old with marginal athleticism left that destroys at the local YMCA. There you have Ametri, except Moss is decidedly more athletic than a 40-year old. So crafty and guile. We featured Ametri a year back when he attended the PrepHoopsTN Spring Combine.
